Huge disappointment… NEVER returning again.
My husband and I returned a second time to stay at Scottsdale Links Resort.
Our first stay a few years ago was wonderful although we could tell that the property was in need of some repair.
This time around we stayed 3 nights and here is a short check list of why we will NEVER RETURN.
The carpets were filthy. I mean really gross, we moved the chairs and ottoman in the living room around and there were dark stains in the carpet.
The kitchen floor had a long crack in the tile.
The bathroom floor and walls were dirty. The sink smelled like the sewer.
When we opened the curtains, the stick completely fell off.
When we opened the patio screen door, it fell off of the hinges.
The dryer was missing a leg and barely worked.
Diamond Resorts did not honor their 3 or more night stay = Mid week light maid service.
When I approached Jon at the desk about this, he told me that my stay didn’t qualify for maid service.
I accepted this and asked for a vacuum so that I could clean the place myself.
Poor customer service
He insisted that there was a vacuum in the room.. and let me assure you that there was no vacuum accessible to guests in that room.
I attempted to explain to him that there was a locked closet and he told me that was a closet for maintenance etc.
I never had a vacuum cleaner delivered or received the light maid service defined in the information card in the room.
The only positive thing was that he had bath towels delivered right away. That’s it.
I waisted my Sunday morning cleaning the room when I could have joined my husband at the fitness center.
Resort fees were high
When we checked out, we brought all of this to the agent’s attention and although we got a weak apology we also got nothing but excuses for the absence of mid-week maid service.
JUST A HEADS UP IF YOU DECIDE TO BOOK AT THIS RESORT.
They are renovating buildings, so expect excuses for limited parking, noise,rooms being in bad shape etc.
If you book through another website like we did, WATCH your bank activity!!! for additional charges !!!
They attempted to charge us an additional $160+. When my husband called this morning, the rep told him that the fee was meant to be charged to Hotels.com.
This issue is still under investigation.
