Muthu Oura Praia Hotel

Muthu Oura Praia Hotel

Great Hotel

The pool was lovely and well managed, the children spent all day in there! We booked all inclusive as we usually do but soon regretted it. Although the food in the Malabar restaurant was lovely, it was exactly the same everyday! We continued to have breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner in the restaurant everyday as it had already been paid for.

The only dinner food included in All Inclusive was the buffet which consisted of the same meals everyday.

Breakfast wasn’t very good. The only breakfast food available was juices, croissants, bread, fruit, ham, cheese and teas and coffees. There was no cooked food for breakfast. Their was a wide range of gluten free options for dinner also.

The dessert options were terrible. Dessert was usually just melted chocolate cream and green jelly with fruit. The rooms were very spacious and well air-conditioned. We had hoped for a pool view but we were satisfied by the view of the road and the restaurants nearby.

We were disappointed to find that Ice-pops, Ice-creams and Slushies were not included in All Inclusive and costs €2.00-€2.50 each. The locations of the hotel was brilliant! The beach was only a short walkway – we took the shortcut through Clube Praia de Oura.

There was a brilliant supermarket just underneath the hotel for Self Catering guests. Pool Floats were permitted but the Pool Maintenance man kicked people with floats out of the pool on a number of occasions.

There are multiple bars and restaurants underneath the hotel which was very convenient. The reception staff were not very helpful or friendly. The restaurant staff were lovely and very attentive. All staff spoke great English! Their were no problems with the building except for when the toilet and door broke. Although maintenance fixed those immediately! Their were 3 pool tables although one was Out of Order for the duration of the whole holiday. Around €6 was lost in the pool table.

Their was a taxi stand right outside the front door which was very continent! We were also disappointed to hear that there was no nighttime entertainment but the bars near the hotel made up for that. The hotel pool bar closed at 10:30pm which meant that we usually left the hotel around that time.

The pool also closed at 10:00pm. Overall the holiday was brilliant but I don’t recommend booking All Inclusive.

Next time we go to Portugal, we will definitely be staying in a Muthu Hotel (which is the company that owns this hotel and the 2 hotels near it!)
