I am writing this review to inform others not to fall for the Holiday Inn Club Vacation promotion…
While on vacation in April 2017, I fell victim to a Holiday Inn Club Vacation promotion. I purchased a 4 day 3 nights stay at Orange Lake Resort for $199USD and as an added bonus I was able to get deeply discounted tickets to Seaworld. When signing up for this promotion, I expressed concern as I am from Canada and was not certain when I would return.
I was assured by the representative JM that there are a number of properties that I could attend Orange Lake and if worse comes to worst, I can contact customer service for a full refund. As luck would have it, life happens and I was unable to use this promotion.
So on Jan 16th of this year, I contacted customer service and spoke with an S, who directed me to email firstname.lastname@example.org I was again informed there should be no issue in receiving a refund. Upon writing an email to customer review I received an automatic reply that stated I would hear back in 7 – 10 days.
I provided two contact numbers in my email and requested to speak with a representative. On Jan 31st I sent another email to customer review inquiring as to the status of my refund as I had not heard back from them.
Again I received the automatic reply stating I would hear back in 7 – 10 days “Most Cordially, Customer Review Holiday Inn Club Vacations”. On Feb 7th I sent yet again another email to customer review, as I still had not heard back from them. I expressed my concern as 3 weeks had passed and I was supposed to hear a reply in 7 – 10 days. On Feb 13th I sent a 4th email to customer review requesting an update on the status of my refund. Along with the previous 3 emails, I attached my original email requesting the refund. On Feb 18th, I sent a 5th email to customer review requesting an update as it had been 4 weeks since my original email. I was becoming increasingly frustrated as I was supposed to hear back in 7 – 10 days and I had provided two contact numbers, as well as my email address.
Today, I contacted Holiday Inn Club Vacations and spoke with a C, inquiring if there was any way to know what the status of my refund was. C informed me that he saw that Holiday Inn Club Vacations rejected my refund request on the 18th of January. AT NO TIME, did a representative contact me.
I expressed my concern for the lack of customer service to the representative, who was nice enough to extend the expiry date of my promotion by 6 months (free of charge), giving me another 6 months to use it, rather than to have it expire and lose out on $199USD. If you’re looking to speak with a representative with customer review, your out of luck. Buyer beware..
