Stunning Grounds But That’s All Very Disappointing

I Booked a weekend away with family to go and visit the castle and Windsor.

On arrival the grounds and reception were impressive. From then onwards it was very disappointing. I joined a long queue to check in. Whilst waiting I over heard a few guests asking to moved to another rooms.

I could hear the receptionists saying sorry we are full. Not really what you want to hear. I checked in and went on a route March literally to find our room. So many corridors and stairs to over come. Eventually we found our room. I’m not a fussy person, but this is what we discovered. Dirty windows and mirrors in both the room and bathroom. My daughter wanted a bath, I picked up the plug to find it covered in slime and soap scum. Worse was yet to come in the plug hole was the previous residents pubic hairs these were also in the bottom of the bath (yuk) we decided against a bath.

The toilet was not clean (I will leave there) the Basin and taps had toothpaste and soap marks on them.

The floor was not clean either. The carpet in the bedroom was marked and sticky in places. The bedcover cover and cushions were filthy. The bed sheets were marked and the top cover had dried blood stains.

The bottom sheet had a hole in it. There was no mattress cover. I couldn’t relax whilst in the room. The breakfast was a joke. The Bain Marie’s were either empty or half full. The food was luke warm. The serving staff seemed over worked and un interested.

I asked for a spoon for my daughter so she could eat her fruit the member of staff just said take one off one of the tables that’s been set. She was just about to start eating when I discovered that it was dirty and had been used by the previous guest. ( I was literally heaving).

The swimming pool was very disappointing the poolside and pool were full of swimming aids towels were strewn all over the floor and loungers. The changing rooms were the same used towels all over the floor.

The showers either didn’t work or were very cold/Luke warm water. A lot of guests were complaining about how unhappy they all were. All in all I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying at this establishment.

It’s a real shame because it seats in beautiful grounds and is a great location for Windsor.
