db San Antonio Hotel + Spa

Unpleasant

Very disappointing!!

Maybe a Maltese 4star but definitely not by UK standards. Not quite all inclusive, extras need paying for including ” environmental tax” payable on arrival at the hotel.

Our second day we went out and when we returned to our room there were food remnants on our balcony floor that were not ours! They remained for the next 3 days until we left.

Whilst there was a huge selection of food in the main buffet restaurant the quality of the food was very much poor canteen standard with all vegetables being grey, salty and overcooked. My husband and I are both vegetarian and struggled to find anything to eat. Potato croquettes tasting as though they had been fried in the same deep fat fryer as sausages.

There is an adult only pool on the roof but this is so popular it is hard to get a sunbed despite them being so packed in there is barely room to move.

Smoking is not allowed in rooms but is permitted on balconies and all outside bar areas, so step outside and the overwhelming aroma is of cigarette smoke.

There is a small beach area for hotel guests with sun beds available at an extra charge.

Be prepared to avoid timeshare salespeople from the hotel ready to pounce every time you step out the hotel.

Not really the hotels fault but there are very, very many children in the hotel running in all areas making noise and not being controlled.

We paid for a sea view but those not lucky enough to have a sea view instead overlook a busy road and/or building site that occupants were commenting on the noise from 6.30 am until 5.30 pm.
