What the doctor ordered – R&R in glorious natural setting

This is a timeshare resort. If you are booking through RCI or the internet know that Worldmark Pinetop and Wyndham Pinetop are the same resort – it does not matter which one you book – you will get a unit assigned from one set of inventory.

LOCATION – “small town” – turn right out of resort – short drive for gas – 10 minutes more into town – Safeway and Eddie’s for groceries, Starbucks, food, Dollar store, shops; keep going – 20 minute drive into Show Low with a bit more shopping – Wal Mart, Home Depot, fast food, restaurants. The resort is built among very old, very tall Ponderosa pine trees; absolutely beautiful setting in the forest with trails directly behind the resort. Easy 3-4 hour drive up from Phoenix.

ACCOMODATIONS – There are 14 buildings with 1, 2 or 3 bedroom condo style units (see attached photo for location of the unit;1 and 3 bedroom units are marked – all others are 2 bedrooms). You can call ahead to request a building and they do their best to accommodate based on availability when you check in. If you have kids or want less walking and easy access to all amenities ask for a unit in buildings 5 to 11. We were 2 couples in an upper floor 2 bedroom unit in building 14 at the furthest end of the complex. Nice quiet cul-de-sac close to a second hot tub but more walking to access all other amenities. This was fine for us. Overall large size clean unit, nicely furnished with decor suited to the setting. Large, nicely furnished master bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom; second bedroom was small with 2 single beds (not great for second couple) with a bathroom across the hall. Large living room with electric fireplace, small kitchen (open concept so it did not seem too small), dining room, balcony with private gas BBQ. Both bathrooms were large. The coffee percolator did not work but it was replaced with a new one when housekeeping came in. In the meantime we were offered freshly brewed coffee from the office. They also have hot chocolate and tea and it is available free all day. The stove and the dishwasher are breaking down and show their age. Full size washer and dryer in the hallway inside the unit next to a large closet. We cook and found the kitchen supplies were adequate. Packets of spices, salt and black pepper, 2 packets of coffee, coffee filters, 2 packets laundry detergent (no towel exchange). No housekeeping during stay.

SERVICE – very helpful and friendly staff; housekeeping staff was amazing.

THINGS TO SEE AND DO – best thing to do – nothing !!! – this is a great place to rest, relax, de-stress and enjoy nature. If you want to explore there is a room in the office that has information on everything to see and do in the area. Go there and take a look. Lots of scenic drives. They also give you a list of places where you will get a discount if you show your resort key card – see photo attached for list. There are limited items provided free, lots of board games and outdoor games – tennis, bocce ball, basketball etc. – please see photo attached “Extras” for the full list.
Daily fee for Wifi; owners have free access. There is a computer in the lobby that guests can use free for up to 30 minutes. You can print for free. Check out is noon – very rare these days. If you go off season most eateries and facilities are closed – make sure and take food with you and plan your bathroom stops.
