Trouble Checking In, No Room Choices, Terribly Outdated, Unsafe Area

So I’ll start by saying, I spend at least two months a year in hotel rooms. I don’t demand luxury but I do have some standards that were not met at this hotel. Also, I did book this hotel on through Hotwire, which I often use on personal trips to save a little cash.

We arrived late on a flight from Northern California, after picking up a car we arrived shortly after midnight. When we arrived, we found the door to the lobby locked. Strange. After calling Hotwire, they were able to contact the night auditor who let us in. Apparently there is a doorbell that you are supposed to press to be let in.

We begin the check-in process, and the agent informs us that they only offer rooms with one bed with a pullout couch. When did it become normal for two full grown men to cuddle for the night?

After trying to negotiate with the agent and with Hotwire, we were tired, and so we took the room with the intention of moving in the morning.

The room was old, outdated, although mostly clean. Beds were both hard as a rock, with terrible thin blankets and linens.

The next morning, we were able to contact Hotwire and get a refund for our remaining stay, which we gladly took to a Hampton Inn a few miles away.

I can’t speak for the timeshare units, but I never would send business this direction. The staff here is rude, untrained, and disorganized. Wyndham really needs to take a closer look at their operation at Legacy Golf Resort.
