Club del Carmen by Diamond Resorts

Very dated accommodation

Spent a week at Club del Carmen through Diamond Resorts.

Check in and check out – friendly, welcoming staff who are always happy to help. On our last day we asked reception to order us a taxi. It arrived bang on time. However, we didn’t expect to go on a tour round the resort picking up other people. A journey that should have taken 10 minutes took 40 minutes. Not impressed since we were then cutting it neat for our flight.

Location – A wee 10 minute walk into the centre but nice and near the beautiful beach. Perfect.

Pool – The pool opened at 9.30am and there were queues from 8.45am to get sunbeds. We only needed a couple so we always got beds if we got there just in time for 9.30am. However, every day there were families who would put towels on 5 or 6 sunbeds, then one member of the group would sit on one bed whilst the rest of the group slept/ ate breakfast whatever. One good thing was the lifeguard would go round and remove towels from beds, not often enough though.

Accommodation – Where to start? Our room was grotty, rundown, old and in desperate need of an upgrade.

For a Diamond Resort complex, the rooms are awful. If there was a mark on the wall, you could see it had been touched up. We actually saw a tin of paint on the housekeeping trolley. The furniture in the bedroom, kitchen and living area was old and dated, the bathroom panel was rotting. The room itself was tiny. Considering the outside of the accommodation looks so bring and new, the inside was just horrible.

Wi-Fi – What Wi-Fi? Take a walk into the centre of town and find it there!
