Terrible mattress
Tried to stay here for a week but couldn’t take another night. This is a nice resort, it was clean and well maintained. However, the mattress is such poor quality that it hurt my back so bad that I had to go visit a chiropractor, Dr. Calhoun in order to fix my back so I could walk.
We ended up buying a 3 inch memory foam3-inchr and laying it in the floor to sleep on which was not comfortable but was better than the mattress. The furniture is pretty but very low quality. When you sit on it, you sink down very far and is uncomfortable.
Pool was great, location is good but bring your own mattress!
We cannot return here and I am forced to sell my timeshare week because Holiday Inn is too cheap to spend the money to put in quality memory foam and coil mattresses which run about $600.
Holiday Inn should be ashamed of themselves selling timeshares that people can’t use due to low quality matrices and furniture.
Worst experience at a hotel ever
Worst experience I’ve ever had at a Holiday Inn.
Did not feel like this represented the brand well at all. We were unable to find parking and parked on the street (due to maintenance). We checked in on Thursday about 9:30 pm and were told that we can’t leave the room after 10 pm because they will be painting the hallway floors. They even said they should of told us that. On Friday our rooms started to smell of paint fumes because someone was painting our room door.
My fiance has asthma and I asked if they could please stop. The workers painting wanted to come in and paint our door trim as well. I told them no as we were in the room and my fiance was in the shower. I had to call the manager who said he was sorry and it wouldn’t happen again. I then found a roach in the room, killed it and brought it downstairs. I was told it’s a palmetto bug and that this is typical in Florida.
No one thought it was disgusting for a 4 star hotel to have a roach in the room besides me. They agreed to comp one night and said this wouldn’t continue… I should have just left. On Saturday we started to smell paint fumes again and once again the painting crew was at our door, tried to get inside while we were in and our room again reeked like paint fumes. I had to ask the worker to again leave. The worker (not a holiday inn employee) didn’t leave but kept painting. I called the manager again who said that I was being an inconvenience and that they wouldn’t charge me for Saturday night if I chose to leave.
I’d hope not because I wouldn’t have been staying there. I’m not sure about anyone else but have you ever tried to book another “4-star” hotel the day of? Everything is booked and we would have had to pack up and leave and check in to another hotel, which none were available and creating another inconvenience, while on vacation. I told the manager we would be leaving Sunday and asked if they could wait another day to paint our Room since it’s only one day. Again, I was told I was being an inconvenience.
This experience was not typical of any other time I’ve ever been at a holiday inn. We left Sunday and no one followed up with me. I had to call corporate to get a follow up. There was no customer service or any bit of hospitality at this place.
We felt extremely disrespected as we were paying good money for a room while they were trying to push us out the entire time.
Again, this was not typical of any holiday inn I’ve ever stayed at (I travel once a week and only stayed at holiday inns for points). Unless you want bugs, paint fumes, staff that is not friendly or helpful, I would STAY AWAY!
Will not stay again
We have stayed at this place 2 other times and had no issues. This last time is another story. First of all the air conditioner in our room broke and was supposedly fixed but only worked for a few hours. We woke up the next morning around 2 am burning up and it was 76 in the room. We were told the air conditioner had frozen up and we would have to change rooms. There was 6 of us so we had a lot to pack up and move to another floor. They said they would help and they did which was great but the guy that helped was rude and acted like it was a pain or our fault. Very unfriendly. We understood these things happen so we just went with it. They gave us a free beach chair voucher for the trouble. Well it just got worse from there. The elevator was messed up from day one we was there. The door was crazy and didn’t work. Then one day I was on it alone and it went crazy and was dropping and flashing stuff that I didn’t know what it was saying. It was going nuts like it was breaking with me in it. He door wouldn’t open and I was stuck in there awhile. I was screaming and even pushed the alarm button. The door finally cracked and I pulled it open. They knew the whole time we was there it was messed up and I get stuck in it and it was hot and very terrifying. Needless to say i was shook up for quite awhile. After we told them what happened all we got was an apology!! What a joke! I’m glad my 5 year old wasn’t in there with me. It was very scary when I felt it drop twice. Well that wasn’t the end. The room they switched us to had a messed up balcony door. They told us it was messed up. The night we were packing we had stuff out there and the door wouldn’t open. So we called once again. A guy came in a literally was KICKING the door trying to kick it open. He gets on his cell and talks awhile gets off and apologies he can’t do anything. So my teenage son opens the window takes out the screen and crawls out the window to get out stuff. Needless to say we will NOT be back. Fix your broken things when you know they’re broke not after you have a million issues and complaints! The elevator issue for me was terrifying. I’ve never been stuck on one and feel like it was breaking while I was on it.
overrated
The worse thing was the rock hard bed in master bedroom. Asked for replacement bed or another room and was given a nasty stained 1″ pad. the master bedroom was always hotter than rest of condo which meant we had to freeze the other guests to stay somewhat cool. Upon arrival the kitchen counter-tops and dining room table were dirty. All the kitchen and bedroom drawers were dirty with dead bugs and hair. I can’t believe so many people gave it 4-5 star rating.
Don’t Waste Your Money
We bought back in the 80’s when they were converting this from a hotel to condos. We have a two bedroom and later when the family got bigger we bought an additional one bedroom. We were driven away for many years due to a hurricane and when they rebuilt it was almost great! Wonderful soft furnishings 42″ TV’s a DVD player in every room, you name it in your perfect vacation. Then came Holiday Inn who was allowed to buy us out. Now as you can see from the pictures the furniture is stiff and uncomfortable also all TV’s were replaced with 32″ all of them and no option to rent a larger one (which I suggested). Many of the families that go down the same time as we do have huge families and small children and need something to entertain them at night. As I said don’t waste your money unless you are only going for a view of the beach. The whole family misses the Tropical Breeze we bought and paid for!!!!
