Below minimum as advertised. Very disappointing.
We did an RCI trade. Room was basic.
Kitchen had no towels or salt in cabinets. Restaurant closed though it’s promoted. No coffee in room but no coffee in the lobby. No bar. No parking.
Pleasant staff but the promised amenities were entirely missing. We arrived at 9 from the Chania airport to have no food and no recommendations. Had to stop at a pizza place to get directions to get into the property since the sign on the front door said the main entrance was closed and to go around the block (one way streets not marked). We were simply disappointed. Our room had an upstairs and a sofa bed couch. Two bathrooms. No drinking water in the room so bring your own. We were directed to the grocery store down the road. The least they could have done was alert us in advance.
Result of this was that we stayed 4 of 7 nights and spent money to come back toward Chania for several days instead. We would not recommend this unless you want to all the property in advance to check on amenities/services. Not, therefore, a high RCI property rating. Their explanation was that it was the end of the season, to which my response was that they were still open and doing business and needed to offer what they advertised and what we paid for. That said, Crete is worth the trip, just not there.
Treats RCI member’s like second class citizens
Resort looks good on-line but you don’t get what you pay for.
On arriving we had to search for parking, our first room was a dump, and after much discussion, we were given an upgrade to a room that was just acceptable. Management said we don’t get the “good” rooms because we are not actual owners at the resort, we were only RCI members.
RCI rating of this resort is very misleading.
Great communal areas but poor quality apartments
I stayed at the Leoniki Residence with a friend. We were in a one bedroom duplex apartment (407)One of us slept in the bedroom and the other downstairs on a sofa bed. There was no storage at all downstairs for clothes, which is unacceptable.
The unit had a small kitchen area but the equipment that was provided was old and insufficient – small cups without saucers instead of mugs and no wine glasses at all. We had to borrow wine glasses from the restaurant. It all just seemed a bit cheap and tired.
As an RCI exchange, we had to pay 15 euros to get the key to use the safe in our room.
Other residents had keypad safes and no charge. Why are RCI exchanges treated differently? The communal areas of the resort are kept to a very high standard. There are plenty of sunbeds and the pools are always immaculate.
The resort staff are excellent especially the restaurant manager.
We took advantage of the breakfast package. The food was very good and there was a wide choice. We only had one evening meal in the restaurant as part of the Cretan Night. It was well cooked and good value for money.Once you have managed to find it there is plenty of parking to the rear of the resort for hire cars and we always managed to find a space. The resort is sandwiched between the main road to the rear and the coast road through the village to the front. At times the roads are quite busy and noisy.Overall we had a good experience at the resort but it could have been so much better if the apartment had been better equipped.
Older Resort, Poor Management, and Lack of Policies
I came to Greece as a dream trip! The country is beautiful, however, where you stay can make it or break it.
This hotels management completely BROKE IT! I initially stayed with our RCI timeshare. With the hotel knowledge, I was having problems with my flight and ask to pay for 2 additional nights at the hotel. Upon my payment, I was not told that it was nonrefundable.
I was given an earlier flight and asked if I could be Refunded for a night. I was told No because it wasn’t policy. When I paid it was not told to me.. I asked to see the written policy that my payment was unfundable and they were not able to provide such documentation. It is BUSINESS 101 to provided policies of an establishment especially a resort. It is low season and the hotel has mostly empty rooms so my request did not keep other patrons from booking a room. I was met with no sensitivity by the management, specifically Stathis Theodorakis. I continued to ask him for the written policy and he could not produce it. It was just by his words. I’m completely appalled with the lack of business structure and management. If it was an actual policy I would understand, but it is not. It’s pure greed.
My family has had problems with the management and service here this week. The only consistent kind, helpful, and friendly face was the front desk receptionist Dosia Zombetacis ( who needs to be hired at the sister hotel since it’s more upscale and was told with impeccable service and establishment) in addition to Dialectic the mini store clerk and the bartender Bill Hompis. Outside of those 3 we have experienced the most inconsistent service. One moment management and the servers appear kind and exemplifies hospitality and the next they are completely rude and curt. It was mind-boggling.
It has not been a pleasant stay and I would review this establishment as below average. If you have other options for a place to reside in Crete I would advise to pursue them. The location is not in the exciting parts of the island. The rooms are average and dark. The local neighbours in the back of the resort (near the second pool) plays extremely loud music all night and has dogs barking throughout the night. The facility is basic and needs Major upgrades. All these things could of been ignored because we were in Greece! But where you stay is important.
I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone when there are so many better and more consistent in the hospitality and exciting aspects with sound policies. I have travelled the world and this has definitely been the most bothersome. Please be mindful if you choose to stay here…
Very disappointing experience
Despite the good rating, the resort is a true disappointment. The reception staff were very rude and easy to lie to avoid responsibility.
We had to ask the only noteworthy staff member the gentleman in charge of the restaurant to get us a second key! as the hotel only gives one!!
even though I had phoned in advance to ask for a suitable room as I have a knee injury, I was given the worst room of the resort, at the back of the hotel with no view
The kitchen area was small and the microwave oven placed on a top shelf. Well I am a tall lady but still I had to stand on tiptoe to warm my food
And finally, the pool hours are from 10am to 6 pm , probably to accommodate the lifeguard
So no morning swim
I just want to go home
