Nice resort, but don’t count on quiet

We asked for a few things and they were at our door with them within a minute it seemed like.

The grounds were kept up and the rooms we stayed in were very nice.

The one negative though, and it’s a big one, is that you could hear EVERYTHING going on in the upper unit from the lower one.

I think a herd of elephants must have rented out that space. I knew every time they took a shower or used the water. The saving grace was they didn’t stay up much later than we did, but God forbid if they would have.

Room Tip: Get an upper unit. At least you will be the one annoying the person below. Hey, it’s your vacation, might as well be selfish.

Poor customer service, roaches

This room I rented out appeared to be clean and was as expected for the most part other than the bed and pillows on the bed weren’t comfortable at all. The main issues I have with this resort is the fact that there were two cockroaches sighted in the bathroom that were about half and inch long. I plugged all drains and let the front desk know. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk, the woman working told me that’s probably not true, as though I was possibly lying. It was extremely awkward and luckily another front desk person heard her remark, apologized for her and asked what I saw. He told me that they would let a manager know the next day to see what could be done to “make it right” since I was checking out the next morning. The manager didn’t call back, I had to follow up with the same front desk person to remind her to call me. When management called, she said she would send someone to inspect for bugs since we were already gone. She didn’t seem to care at all. Once again I was the one to follow up on it again, and it was confirmed that there were in fact more “red bugs” found in the room. This woman never offered an apology or did anything to show concern over roaches. To this day no one has never even followed up and even passed the buck on recommending I going through the travel agency I booked through instead of owning up to the issues with the room.

The property backs up to forest & every room has a forest view which is so nice. The rooms are very nice, clean & we loved having a kitchen. The only negative was the shower-the drain didn’t work & the spray was so strong it was uncomfortable.

Predictability in Lodging Quality

If you want to get out of the summer heat of greater Phoenix you will find it at Pinetop, AZ. The summer mornings are cool as well as evenings. But be prepared if here in Jul/Aug for 3pm electrical/rain storms. Which in my mind have there own beauty.

If you have stayed at a WorldMark property before then you know there is predictable quality in the property. We had a 1 bedroom unit which was spacious, well-equipped kitchen, clean and relatively modern unit.

Several activities on the property with a large pool/s (kids), spa, exercise equipment, basketball court, tennis, volleyball, bocce, game room, etc. Outside of the property hiking, biking, lakes, winter skiing and golf. We played 3 golf course while in Pinetop. The property is nestled in the pine forest.

Great location with a few negatives.

This resort is in a great location for a White Mountains getaway. It is just at the edge of Pinetop, and there is good access to groceries, shopping, and dining. The units are ample size, and well furnished. Some of the staff was extremely helpful (Tricia) and others not so much. We called for maintenance for the dishwasher and were promised they would be there in 10 minutes but they never showed up. A couple visits to The front desk were met with The typical “how dare you to interrupt me while I am updating Facebook” look. When I go to a resort I expect top notch service and a nominal level of respect. The unit we were in did not have parking close to the building so loading and unloading our luggage was more difficult than usual. My biggest complaint is that the bed was way too firm! I ended up using the Murphy bed instead. The resort amenities are great and well maintained, and the grounds are very clean.
