Disappointing
We have stayed at Club Playa Flores on numerous occasions as timeshare owners.
This stay was June 24th.2017 and we stayed in a 2 bed apartment. We were expecting a similar holiday but we’re very disappointed.
Our arrival at reception was fine & we were given the keys to our room below ground level. The apartment hadn’t been renovated so was a bit tired although spotlessly clean.
We did have air conditioning in main lounge area and one of the bedrooms but not the other.
We came with our daughter and 2 year old grandson expecting the bar & pool area to have the same atmosphere as our previous visits but this was definitely not the case.We were amazed to find that the bar seemed to close at 4pm in the afternoon every day & on our last day we heard one of the staff advising a hen party group that the bar would close at 4 pm on Friday and wouldn’t be open again until Monday!!
The area has no other bars to go to unless you walk down a fairly steep road & back.
We were lead to believe that a linen change would occur midweek with a light clean but this didn’t happen. We had to go to reception to get clean towels. The young man on reception was very helpful but no one ever did come to our apartment with new sheets etc.
Breakfast just a bit of ham & cheese with toast jam & coffee & choice of orange or apple juice. We only went down twice.
We have many happy memories of Club Play Flores over a 20 year period and unfortunately, this visit has left us a bit disillusioned.
Misrepresented
This apartment hotel is not in a good neighbourhood. They took 10-minutes to answer the door despite the fact that we arrived during the listed check-in times. The women who answered the door in her loungewear could not speak Spanish or English.
We were shocked at the shabbiness of the facility. The apartment smelled and we were greeted by a mop, bucket and broom upon entering the apartment. The windows are aluminium with no screens. The bedspreads had obvious stains. The apartment was unclean.
At best, the property was no better than the worst you could expect from low-income housing. I was travelling with my 18-year old niece and her friend and we were in Malaga so they could catch a very early morning flight after a full and long day of travel and sightseeing. We did not feel comfortable or safe. We chose to leave and find other accommodations.
Disappointed hard beds and building work
Very disappointed, hard beds and building refurbishment going on.
just finishing our holiday and leave for home tomorrow. Beds are so hard and uncomfortable, pillows the same, asked for them to be changed and nothing happened. Back shoulders neck and joints sore and not getting sleep. Looking forward to a comfy bed at home.
Building work going on on the second floor, woken every morning at 9am with hammering, drilling etc. Going for doze afternoon still hammering and drilling to contend with. If your planning a stay here soon you’re going to have to put up with noise. Apartments generally are clean but ageing, decor from the 80’s with wear and tear.
Good apartments but not the area
The apartments are very specious. Large living, decent kitchen and big bedrooms. Stayed 6 nights which meant I wasn’t entitled to towel change, was told where the laundry room was so I could do it myself, which wasn’t a problem although some women may not want to come in contact with one while on holidays. Also no cleaning or rubbish collection.
Pool area is nice and quiet, most days we were the only ones at it, not much of an atmosphere. Small restaurant and bar, nobody really used either although food and staff were lovely. Renovations currently taking place so a bit of noise. Location is a bit far from everything i.e shops, bars and restaurants. Most days got the train to the centre then a taxi back. No chance of a nightcap in the bar either as it closes at 11pm.
WiFi is good enough, no English speaking channels on the tv in the apartment. No tv in the small bar either so for football matches etc you would have to go elsewhere. This is not really a hotel more so self-catering. Would stay somewhere more central on our next visit with more atmosphere. 3 stars for price and space but all the trains and taxis add to the cost.
Not recommended
We had a very strangely structured apartment.
The kitchen didn’t look very good.
The volume control of the television didn’t work.
The walls were quite thin, and we had very noisy neighbours who were banging at doors in the middle of the night.
The receptionist seemed to be trying to shorten us on the change.
As to the surroundings, the street was narrow but quite busy, and parking was a problem.
There is a shop near the beach, but not many facilities otherwise.
