Club Olympus in Garden City Timeshare

Club Olympus is based in Garden City, an ideal location for Las Americas and Adeje. However, the place itself is very tired looking. We only managed to stay for 2 hours so I am unable to comment on any more than first impressions.

IMPORTANT – Anyone renting a property here is advised to make sure they are renting a ‘privately owned’ villa and not one from a timeshare company like we did.

We got photos through of the apartment we were renting, showing a flat-screen TV, nice decor and worded that it was a superior property and well decorated !! When we arrived it stank of old fags, with old-fashioned decor and the old box TV. It was clean to a sort but in the bathroom, I found an old toenail and a ‘hair’ in the bath… OMG!.

We rang the company we had booked with, to be told they had never actually seen the place and only had the photos provided by the owner. We told them we were not staying there for even one night and so we spent the afternoon looking for a hotel to book into.

This is obviously not Club Olympus fault as most of their villas are owned privately.

Just be careful to ask the right questions when you book. We did, however, get a full refund.

We booked privately with Mrs Dewey, and upon arriving at 1 in the morning were faced with a shabby and dirty apartment, and no bedding for my son, not impressed.

I did not expect to have to go and buy cleaning products,(including a mop head, as the mop provided was thread-bare and had not seen water in many years), and scrub a filthy bathroom and kitchen, floors.

The oven was unusable the tiles in the kitchen covered in years of grease and grime the list goes on. I did however put up with the apartment for 2 weeks as i know there was no chance of a refund and tried to clean the apartment as best i could so as to have a more comfortable stay.

All in all the complex it self is not too bad, a little clicky as most residents are time share holders and know each other, and also like to hog all of the sunbeds/parasols/pool side bar seats etc.

The complex is small but has all you need, including some dodgy entertainment most nights, reasonably priced food and drink at the pool side bar that can be taken out, and a small shop and laundrette.

However, i would not stay here again as the complex is situated on a hill away from the main nightlife, and most bars and restaurants near by close at 12. Apart from the apartment we had a great holiday in Tenerife and will definately be going back, just not here!

Was put in this hotel by Club la Costa. It was really not their standard so I cannot understand why I was put there!!!

On the plus side, staff were very friendly and the pool bar was excellent and is in an excellent location.

Apartments were very small with a tiny balcony which had a table and chairs with 2 sun loungers, but I do not think if the sunloungers were unstacked that they would have fitted in!!

Don’t be conned by Club la Costa.

Justed returned from a 7day stay at Club Olympus (Garden City). We haven’t visited Tenerife for 20 years but was aware that significant development had taken place. We booked this apartment because it was near the marina and not “high -rise”.

We expected it to be a quiet location with good facilities nearby. How wrong we were!

If you are a binge drinking karaoke king/queen this is the place to visit.

Our apartment was directly above one karaoke bar and the Poolside Bar (karaoke included) was direct to the side.

It was impossible to listen to the TV prior to midnight when the singing stopped!

On busy nights the compere would continue his monotonous prattle for up to an hour at incredible sound volume.

There are nice places to stay in this part of Tenerife but this is definitely not one of them!
