As members we love it
We have owned a week in Anfi Del Mar Gran Anfi apartments for about 12 years and we love it. I’m here at the moment and it’s a clean, well maintained and most of all safe.
As parents, you always worry about your kids of course but here the security is good.
There is entertainment provided every night at the plaza which is good clean family fun usually only lasts an hour and starts at 9pm. There are little market stalls there to browse before the show to pick up some little gifts or get your profile painted.
The beach is a minute from Anfi with a variety of water sports which are expensive for example the jet ski is €120 for an hour which is extortionate in my option. There is a parade of shops and restaurants by the beach too. There are a variety of pools to use on the Anfi complex but Gran Anfi’s pool is the best.
There is a mini golf area which has not been in use for a few years now but you can still take a leisurely stroll around the golf gardens. It’s a nice place. The restaurants are expensive but you can get a cheap
Taxi out to Puerto Rico where food is cheaply priced along with cheap drinks.
The best of the best!
There are three or four parts to the Anfi resort. All have their own pools and all are very nice indeed however in my view, Club Gran Anfi is slightly better than the other sections. However, it matters little which part you stay in.
Club Gran Anfi apartments are super. Large, well furnished (dishwasher and washing machine in all apartments)and with very large verandahs with table, chairs and sunbeds. The pool are is clean and the pool is a good temperature. Sunbeds are, in my view, rather close together – this is the same for all parts of the Anfi resort.
The entire resort is spotless and the daily cleaning of the apartments is first rate.
The restaurants on site are adequate: Tapas restaurant is probably the best, but a better choice is available a 5 min taxi drive away. Other restaurants are too far away to walk. There is an excellent Spar supermarket on site offering good quality wine and a wide range of foodstuffs.
First rate reception and all staff were friendly and helpful.
Recommended for a relaxing poolside holiday
Lovely but not much to do
I was lucky enough to get invited on a holiday with my friend who has a timeshare at Anfi. We stayed at Anfi in the Gran hotel for 2 weeks. Our 2 bedroom apartment was huge (very clean, the cleaners come in every day and change the towels twice a week) with a big balcony, the master bedroom had a Jacuzzi bath, the kitchen was well equipped and the beds were extremely comfy.
The workers are all very friendly and approachable, they like to joke around with you and make you have a good time.
The food at the restaurants inside the club are a bit on the pricey side but the closest alternative to those restaurants is going to the closest town Peurto Rico which is a 10-minute car journey away.
The only thing I would say about the resort is that it is quite isolated, it’s on a stretch with a couple of other resorts but there isn’t much to do unless you just want to ‘chill’ round the pool.
I would definitely advise hiring a car if you visit Anfi, they do have a car park I believe. However, me and my friend made the mistake of only using taxis which made it expensive to go out and explore.
Fantastic Holiday
We have just returned from a week in an apartment at the Club Gran Anfi this is one of the cleanest & well presented resorts we have stayed in. The apartment is very well appointed & freshly decorated we were very impressed. The kitchen has dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave/grill etc.
We managed to cook all our meals & eat on the large balcony complete with sun beds. The bedroom has a jacuzzi/bath & a massive king size bed. The bathroom is huge with Jack & Jill sinks.
There is a nice beach on resort but beware the sun beds & brollies are not included 2 beds & a brolly cost 10 euros a day.
There is a large Spar supermarket in the middle of the main Anfi resort & a small Spar supermarket on the ground floor of the Club Gran Anfi but for the best prices there is a Super Cor supermarket in the next resort of Arguineguin but you will need a car for this trip.
If you hire a car there is very limited free car parking which is a long walk from the resort so you will need to pay to park in the underground car park which cost 42.50 euros for a week so you will need to add this to the cost of the car hire.
If you hire a car it is well worth exploring some of the other villages & resorts along the coast rd especially Puerto Mogan the old village is very picturesque also a trip into the forested area with the small lakes if you like a bit of hiking but be warned the roads are very bendy.
All in all we had a great week here & would not hey too go back again.
Excellent resort with all you need
We have owed at Anfi for 10 years and visited most years.
I have to admit that the cost to buy is not cheap but you get what you pay for. When we initially bought it was because we said to ourselves that this is somewhere we could come every year (unlike some resorts) Gran Anfi is one of 4 Anfi resorts on the same site each one having at least 1 large heated swimming pool, a poolside bar and restaurant and attractive well-kept gardens.
If staying at Gran Anfi you are able to use any of the 4 resorts.
Also, there is a large public plaza which has a number of restaurants and shops and a small market and entertainment every evening. There is also a sheltered beach made up of fine golden sand, although be advised it is open to the public and can get busy at the weekend.
The prices of the restaurants can be expensive but I think this is to be expected as they are on the resort and therefore offer convenience. If you want lower prices there is plenty of choice in Arguineguin, a 20 min walk, or Puerto Rico, a 5 min taxi ride.
A tip for happy hours – Anfi Beach Club & Gran Anfi is from 4-5pm & Monte Anfi is 5-6pm.
There is also 1 large and 2 small Spar supermarkets on site but these can be quite expensive for some things. We use the local off-site supermarkets for most things and top up with heavy items such as water at the on-site Spar.
The quality of the accommodation is excellent and probably the best if have experienced in my 10 years of exchange holidays. It is always spotless with daily room cleaning and change of bedding mid week. The balconies are large with every balcony at Gran Anfi having sea views. They are well maintained and furnished and any problems are dealt with by the staff immediately.
If you want a quiet relaxing holiday beside the pool with everything available on site this is the place to go. If you want more it 5 mins away in Puerto Rico. What you won’t find in Puerto Rico is an accommodation to the high standard of any of the 4 Anfi resorts
An amazing, luxurious 5 star holiday.
Club Gran Anfi is the best timeshare we have stayed at and owned. We have 2 weeks in a junior penthouse suite and 1 week in a 2 bed apartment. We cannot say enough about it, and look forward to our stays there every year. The staff are warm, friendly and nothing is too much for them, a complete contrast to other timeshares that we have stayed at, and indeed have ownership with too.
There are many activities for toddlers up to teenagers as well as for adults. There is a choice of tennis and badminton courts, football pitches, mini-golf, archery, shuffleboard, 18 hole golf course at neighbouring Anfi Tauro, as well as daily activities such as water polo or aqua gym, all conducted by the staff.
There are many restaurants on-site covering a multitude of cuisines, but many local restaurants are just a short walk away along the seafront for something a little more authentic.
There is Anfi beach, a wonderful, man-made beach with golden sand imported directly from the Caribbean only a short walk away, with a host of activities for the beach and sea too.
The whole site is well secured with key card access gates into the site, these gates usually staffed with in house security guards.
The apartments are all of a genuine 5 star high standard with air conditioning throughout, all en-suite. Also, more lately, each apartment/suite now has its own wifi router just for that apartment. The wifi is genuinely as good in all of the apartments as it is at home! A real plus!
The aspect of Club Gran Anfi means all room views are of the ocean, with either pool or well-maintained gardens in between. A magical sunset into the sea horizon is to be had every night!
We look forward to returning year after year, a real feeling that you’re home when you arrive.

We were unfortunately drawn into experiencing the facilities at Gran Anfi while walking along the beach at San Agustin. We were given free transport to the complex where we were wined and dined and talked into viewing apartments which they claimed were available as timeshares.
We were even offered an unconditional free upgrade from our existing hotel to enable us to take in all that was on offer. Given that we were disappointed with our cockroach-infested 4-star hotel in San Agustin we felt this was an offer we couldn’t refuse.
They duly arranged free transport back to our hotel to collect our baggage and returned us to Club Anfi where they booked us into a luxury 2 bedroom apartment. We must say the apartments were spectacular all with sea views and well appointed.
It was over the next couple of days we were rigorously pursued with the offer to take a timeshare on one of these apartments. Having given some considerable thought to the offer given which included the facility to change for a nominal fee to various other locations throughout the world, we agreed to take the option. After champagne celebrations, we were taken to the verification office where we were bombarded with numerous documents all requiring signature. We were reminded that there was a cooling off period of 14 days so as we had been with them for some 5 hours we agreed to sign all of the documents. First bad mistake. It was only on returning to our apartment and trawling through the voluminous documents that it became quite clear that this was not a normal timeshare scheme where a number of people own a property, have specific access to it and are obliged to maintain it. We had in fact signed up for no more than membership to the Club Anfi which gave us no rights or ownership to any property whatsoever. not only that but it was quite clear that the property owners had very cleverly removed themselves from any specific involvement in the agreement to purchase this membership. The final blow was when I discovered that we had signed for a charge for the free upgrade we had been offered and which the payment I had given as a deposit on “the timeshare” had been used against. When I took this up with the verification officer I was told that they had to do this because some people take the free upgrade and then cancel the agreement. When we told them we were offered the upgrade for free and unconditional, they said the monies would be refunded against the purchase of the timeshare when confirmed. We informed them that in accordance with their own documentation this was in breach of Spanish law which forbids taking deposits. They then said this was the only way they could do it. I informed them we would report the matter to the Spanish Authorities which we have done. So, in summary, BE AWARE OF ANY FREE OFFER THEY MAKE because you will pay for it in the end.
Review: Finn Traveller
There are people on the street telling that there is a new hotel to check out at this place. The hotel was ready to pay a taxi ride for you! The Truth is that although it has nice areas around the hotel complex but it is a worn and old hotel. Feels like back to the nineties. But more than that they are trying to sell you either two weeks of vacation or a membership. It’s part of RCI system. More than 90 minutes was wasted over there until the ridiculous price was heard!
Nothing about this was mentioned in the first place. And the price was sooo high compared to the apartment quality. Don’t be fooled by these kind of offers around the area presented by people on the street. So sad…
Review: CRTS Travel
This used to be very good indeed for dinner.
It now appears to be geared up to serve those staying with board included. We were undecided as to where to head for lunch & as it was the same menu as Maroa decided to give it ago. We placed our orders and whilst waiting looked at the Asian menu that is served in the main restaurant. It looked ok so we reserved a table for the evening. Lunch took ages to be served with elements missed off our order.It didn’t look anything like as well presented as the same dishes served at Maroa. When we asked for the bill we were told that the AVC discount does not apply here.We should have stuck to Maroa or Monte Vista. Needless to say that we cancelled our reservation for dinner based upon the overall experience.
Review: Whitehaven
As a family of 6, we visited Gran anfi as our summer holiday and all I can say is we were very very disappointed. After paying £3,500 for the room, £2,000 for flights and having to bring £2,000 spending money, we expected the holiday to be amazing. Upon arrival, after a very very hot and uncomfortable bus journey (where we were expected to know exactly which anfi hotel we were staying in- as this was a huge inconvenience to the driver when asking him) we were told that no, we were not allowed to check in yet and we would have to walk around in scorching heat in our travelling clothes with a very very restless 2 year old until we were ‘allowed’ to check in. Not only were we told that we were allowed to check in straight away but we also expected them to be much more pleasant about this matter. Once we finally got to our room, 3 hours later, we were very pleased as it was spotless and absolutely beautiful with an amazing view. Unfortunately, this was the only beautiful thing about the trip.
Staff in this hotel are the most rude and ignorant staff I have ever encountered. The reception staff can’t do enough to help you, the restaurant staff on the other hand.. appalling. After spending €20 on ice creams alone (as everything is triple the price you would pay anywhere else) I asked for some drinks.. the bar man then got extremely angry and began shouting at me due to the fact he had had to come from behind the bar twice.. which he made very clear was a HUGE inconvenience to his working day. Everyone in the bar seems like they never want your money and they can never be bothered seeing to you. Now.. to get me started on the anfi staff. What a rude and abrupt man. Due to us only buying into the part time membership which we were told we could use to its full extent for 3 year before deciding whether we want the full membership- only 3 days into our holiday, a rep wanted us to buy into the full membership after offering us all kinds of free trips. When finding out that we did not want this membership and that in fact it wasn’t for us, he became very threatening and very, very rude. Not only did he become very personal but also became very loud and ‘in your face’ which to us, was very unprofessional. Not the best of holidays, definitely enjoyed Dunas Suites far more and will definitely not be returning or recommending to anyone. Ps. This hotel is also not very child orientated and there is absolutely nothing to do in the hotel.
