Beautiful views, lovely setting
Yet another lovely Spring break at this beautiful resort. We have travelled to many places around the world but always want to return to this gorgeous place. From the warm welcome and efficiency of Arturo and staff in reception to the friendly hospitality of Fouad and team in the restaurant…it is a real treat to stay here. The resort is immaculately cared for, the staff efficient and always helpful. This was our 8th visit and we never tire of the spectacular views and beautiful surroundings. Thank you Anfi Emerald team for making it such a pleasurable stay!
Restful, just what the doctor would order!
Wonderful apartment and fab views overlooking the golf course and you can also see the sea. The apartment was spotless and cleaned nearly every day. We had trouble with the air con in our bedroom and within 10 mins of reporting it an engineer was knocking at the door and the problem was fixed – wonderful service. The apartments are modern, airy and spacious.
It was no trouble doing a bit of easy holiday cooking as the kitchen was like home from home including dish washer. The 1 restaurant was a bit disappointing and in our opinion overpriced, however there are lots of eateries around Anfi del Mar (beach).
The pool was a very good size with smaller ones for younger children.
There was wifi in reception and we were told that every room will soon have this service, although this is not a necessity for us.
There are ample towels, you are even given ones to take to the pool/beach. We were even supplied with dressing gown/towel like gowns.
All staff were very helpful, friendly and approachable. The whole complex had a good friendly feeling.
A bus service runs between Emerald and the bigger Anfi del Mar (beach), this is free and gives you the opportunity to use both resorts. Anfi Beach is bigger and busier so it great to be able to switch between the two. There is also a free coach service to a water theme park and Zoo which you book at main reception at Anfi Beach, we visited Palmitos Park with all the birds and Dolphins another wonderful experience.
Mogan is only a bus trip away and well worth it, very pretty fishing village and great sea food
Feel a two week visit coming on next as the one week flew by.
stunning views, clean, plenty of walking areas, fantastic customer service
Our timeshare is usually in Anfi Del Mar. In order to use our ‘deposited’ week, we could only go to Emerald club. We do not play golf. No worries this place is tranquil clean, stunning and will be even better once there is access to the open beach area they have planned,I am sure.
The surrounding mountains/hilly areas provide for plenty of walks which form part of our relaxation on holiday. Entertainment much less than Anfi Del Mar, however, there is a shuttle bus to that resort and return (free of charge) throughout the day and evening. We used to service a couple of times to get us to 2 x fab restaurants in Patalavaca – one is the Slowboat Chinese (3 mins walk from Raddison blu along the roadside path) the other is the Cabo Suroeste tapas bar on the beach front.
Can highly recommend the Emerald Tauro Restaurant on site as we ate here a few times and the food and service were both of high quality and reasonably priced for what we got.
The accommodation was luxurious with a spa bath in the bedroom. Fantastic views from top floor room – Very clean and maintained so throughout stay. Reception staff outstanding.
reason for writing this review is that I was wary about visiting a different Anfi resort – and nothing much on trip advisor other than an unhelpful response before I went.
It was really good, just what I needed for a relaxing luxurious holiday before Xmas festivities.
As Perfect As Ever
Back on 10th August from another visit to Anfi Emerald Club.
We actually own at Gran Anfi but are happy to spend our points to stay at Tauro.
Fantastic 2 bed apartment allowing our 15 year old to “have my own space”. Because the apartments (huge balcony) and resort, in general, are of such a high specification we are happy some days just to lay about “at home” without feeling the need to always be doing something.
We did go on a tour around the island this year and were reminded of just how rugged and beautiful the interior is. Well worth it and the lunch that was included was enough for 2 meals each. Massive starter of salad or homemade soup (delicious) and then the choice of grilled fish or meat dish. Could not fault it.
Managed to fit in a trip Las Palmas and horse riding also.
We are happy to use the local bus service which is great value. Depending on where and when we are going, we usually get the shuttle bus over to Anfi Monte and then just walk back down the road the bus stops. Saves a cab fair into Puerto Rico.
Took buses to and from Palmitos Park (No. 70), buses to and from Holiday World (No.70 there and No. 1 back to Puerto Rico), bus No. 1 on 2 hour journey to Las Palmas (takes you through all of the places you normally whizz past on way from the airport).
We will be looking to go somewhere else next year, however, we know that finding the same level of quality is quite difficult. Now the Anfi Vacation Club is affiliated with Expedia it might be a bit easier. if we don’t find anything suitable we would be more than happy to return to the Emerald Club.
Stunning
Wow wow wow! This is one beautiful resort. We stayed here through RCI (June 1 – 8), and we didn’t quite realise how luxurious and exclusive it is. It’s definitely 5*. The rooms are beautiful, marble floors, super modern kitchen and the views of the golf site and the ocean (in the distance) is breathtaking.
I was here with my husband and 2 young children (4 and 16 month old). The pools, all 3 of them are fabulous. All warm, especially the toddler pool. There is a paddle tennis court on site which we played in.
There is a kids club which we never used. The shuttle bus to Anfi del Mar is frequent and very efficient, and the beach there is wonderfully blue. Anfi del Mar has so much more going on, restaurants galore, and prob loads of activities.
I feel it would have been more suitable for us to have been there, given we are a young family, and reception told us prior to our stay we could email customer services to see if we could transfer there.
HOWEVER once we were at the Emerald, we didn’t want to move as the rooms I am sure are far superior to the ones at del Mar.
The nearest beach Amadores, is only a 5 min drive. (Del Mar about 20 mins)We had a car so was easy. The whole of the area is made up of hotels after resorts after hotels. So everything is more expensive as a result, esp supermarkets, but also restaurants. Water park is good. Palmitos Park is not a match on Loro Park which is in Tenerife (where we had arrived from), but still its nice to go see. Loads of places to play cray golf (for kids)
In terms of services at the hotel, they are great, They gave us another room on checkout day, as we wanted to put our 15 months old to sleep in the afternoon, and checkout was at 10am. They are quite strict about checkout so you may have to fight for it if your flight is in the evening. They provide plenty of dishwasher tablets, and even put your dishwasher on when they come to clean the room, nearly every day, and they don’t use the tablets they have provided but their own ones. A mark of a good hotel I think when they are not stingy. Housekeeping is fabulous. We broke a glass and I called reception to get it swept up, They were literally at my door within 2 mins! We could also park a car a min walk away free of charge.
I miss being there so much. Brilliant stay!
Lovely break
We’ve just come back from a weeks stay at Anfi Emerald club. We haven’t been to Gran Canaria for 10 years or so. We used to stay at Monti Anfi and the last time we were there, they were just starting on the gran Anfi project. We thought we would like to go back as we had many fond memories of the place. It’s really easy to get to if you’re hiring a car. Just turn left out of the airport and 20 minutes (ish) you’ve arrived! We had a friendly welcome by the reception staff. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived so we went and had lunch in the hotel restaurant while they got things ready for us.
After lunch we went up to our apartment which was spacious, well presented and clean. There was everything we needed for our stay. We had a two bedroom apartment which suited our needs as we have a teenager and a toddler. There is also a large balcony with ample sun loungers and table and chairs. The sun was on our balcony until 8’oclock ish so plenty of sunbathing could be done. I don’t know if it was the time of year we went but there was no sun around the pool until mid day!
The view from the balcony was gorgeous too. There is an awesome golf course to look out on. As a family were not really in to golf but you can still appreciate the planning that’s gone in to it.
There is a courtesy bus laid on everyday that will take you back and forth to Anfi del mar and you get a discount on the sun loungers on the beach. It was a lot busier than it used to be when we used to stay at Monty Anfi. We went through the gates and had a look around for old times sake and the pools were heaving!
I’m glad we went back to have a look but I’m pleased we chose to stay at Emerald as it was much quieter and just a lovely little haven away from it all.
You can see the final plans they have for the complex down in reception and it looks pretty amazing. The people that own Anfi sure do know what there doing.
I’m glad we went back to see (nearly) the finished article but I think I’m done with Gran Canaria now.
This was my forth visit! But I can truly say we separate on very good terms xx
Great place & great views!
Wonderful experience, with just a couple of “issues” here and there.
We had a great apartment consisting of living room/kitchen, 2 bedrooms (main bedroom had the jacuzzi), 2 bathrooms, all utilities necessary (I don’t remember if we actually had a microwave, or maybe we just missed it..). The balcony had sunchairs and was very spacious, with a great view towards the golf course and ocean.
Everything was clean (I could not figure the cleaning schedule, I think some days they come and clean everything, some days, they only take away the trash).
Check-in and check-out were smooth, receptionists kind and polite, there was even personnel responsible for carrying the luggage to the room.
Food in the restaurant by the pool was good, however, one time when ordering dessert from the menu, they did not have it. This is something I never approve of, if you do not have something, that is fine, but inform the customer before taking the order (or change and re-print the menu according to what options are available at the time)!
The waiters were also ok & nice, one girl though could be a bit more “cheerful”, she seemed bored at times.
All in all, an excellent experience, with the following minus points:
Internet connection: very poor to non-existent in the room (but for free – cable to be provided at reception with 10 euro guarantee fee, money returned at check-out), and also very poor down in the lobby, where it requires payment.
Beach/Sunchair discount voucher: at check-in we were given a discount voucher for the Anfi Del Mar beach (of the “partner” hotel), which should have resulted in us paying only half price for the sunchairs on the beach. Once we got there and got settled in a random place, the ticket-guy came for the payment, which ended up being full price, because, according to him, Anfi Emerald customers must only choose the white&blue sunchairs&umbrellas. Nobody informed us of such thing before, and there was no sign, so we don’t know if that was something the guy made up for extra money, or actually the rule. We paid full price, as we didn’t want to move, but did not complain to Anfi Emerald reception.
Hairdresser’s: The notification on the door of the salon in the underground lobby stated that “for an appointment, contact reception”, and so we did. After a few confusing calls and misinformation, we were told that it was not possible to make an appointment there for the month of August, but if we wanted, we could go to the Anfi Del Mar hair salon. The distance between these 2 hotels is approx. 10-15 minutes by car (+ parking fee).
