Let Mercantile Claims help you with Akeld Manor Timeshare Release, Claims and Compensation
Many owners of Akeld Manor timeshare find themselves embroiled in a bitter legal struggle to end their seemingly everlasting timeshare contracts. Following a survey conducted in 2012, it became evident that more than 230 members of the privately-owned Akeld Manor and Country Club in Northumberland sought to exit or dissolve their timeshare commitments but encountered exorbitant buy-out charges. In many cases, owners of Akeld Manor timeshares are rarely able to use their timeshare due to arrears and court cases whilst also having to pay accumulating maintenance fees.
There has been a huge rise in timeshare release enquires and complaints from clients with Akeld Manor and Country Club timeshares.
Many concerns revolve around the following factors:

Enjoyable stay but too many little niggles
We were in cottage 19, Cherry Burn, and it was huge!
The door opened into a slate floor lobby with good size coat cupboard
The kitchen was directly in front also a good size, but oddly laid out with the fridge freezer in the corner up against the wall with the doors opening right to left! Also, the sink was directly next to this which meant you had to take the dirty plates over the washed items! There was plenty of cupboard space and cooking utensils but only place settings for four.
The lounge/diner was also a good size but again only seating for four. Some reviews mention the dated decor and although neutral, the floral curtains with frilly pelmet and tie backs, did date the room.
Down the hallway were two good sized bedrooms, one double and a twin They both had a built in wardrobe, dressing table, chest of drwers and bedside table, and were neutral in decor.
There was also a good sized bathroom which was dated having floral and bird print wallpaper and curtains with pelmet and tiebacks! There was also no shower just a handheld unit fitted to the taps!!
The cottage was also located close to the road and traffic noise could be heard in both bedrooms. All the doors were glass with a voile curtain for privacy!!
The cottage was heated by night storage heaters and was very warm.
There were about 30 cottages on the property located in converted barns and farm buildings, but quite close together. They all had a parking space and most have an outdoor area with furniture.
In the reception building was a small swimming pool with spa pool, a sauna and seating area.
The pool was lovely but the changing and shower facilities were unisex with plenty of non lockable lockers but only one shower cubical across the stairs near the gym.
There was a poolside shower and another shower near the sauna.
Above the pool was a games room housing a pool and snooker table, tabletop football and table tennis table.
The grounds were neat and tidy.
The mobile phone connection was intermittent and there was no wifi. The property is located in a beautiful area close to the Chivot Hills and beaches and many local attractions are within easy reach.
The staff were friendly and informative.
We were informed check out was 10am and reminded with a note through the door the day before departure, so I was a little surprised when at 9.20 I went to hand the keys in and the receptionist area was in complete darkness and locked up! I had to wander around the property looking for someone and fortunately found a housekeeper who I gave the keys to!
Overall we had an enjoyable stay and it was lovely property but when you add up all the individual niggles, unfortunately, I can only rate as average!
Having no wifi and mobile phone I could accept but no shower in a property is not acceptable!

Time share swap
We have had to stay in Gb this year because of health issues so we swapped our weeks in Malta for a week in Northumbria the area was lovely.
But oh dear what a let down were Akeld cottages
They were warm and clean but so dated.
Frilly curtains dark wallpaper storage heaters.
No shower
No phone.
We had taken Mobile s which had no signal any internet anywhere on the complex
I was worried all week in case I needed an ambulance for my hub.
He has a lot of probs heart failure being one to be so cut off this day is not at all acceptable also not being able to shower either is also a no no.
Taking a bath was not an option.
We were allocated l bath and l hand towel each for the week exchange s cost I think about 4pounds each
Needless to say we won’t go back
In need of a Major Overhaul
Tired properties in need of a major overhaul
What a shame…disappointing stay at Akeld Cottages 3 families in need of a break and it could have been so much better the cottages are tired and in need of a major overhaul .
The Area was great for walks in the countryside.
OK But A Bit Tired and Dated
Wife and I stayed here for a week this September.
We stayed in one of the cottages and were told it used to be the Chauffeurs Cottage. Inside the cottage is very dated. We had no WI-FI. No mobile reception and no internal phone.
We asked about the internal phone but were told there was a fault in the line in that cottage and were waiting on it being repaired. We had a lovely big fire in the sitting room but never used it.
No shower in the bathroom.
We never used the swimming pool as, if you were out for the day, the pool was closed by the time you were home.
The cottages are right on a very busy road where the cars going by seemed to be going at a fair speed.
The nearest place to Akeld would be Wooler which was a couple of miles along the road.
The area around Akeld is beautiful and apart from the traffic on the busy road, it’s very peaceful.
