We haven’t let our daughter out of our sight since. So no, we wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
We arrived on Tuesday and had requested a ground floor room as we have a 4 year old.
Upon checking in we were told we had a 3rd floor room which was probably the furthermost room in the hotel from the children’s facilities. We walked all the way there and the key didn’t even work so we headed back to reception.
They offered us an upgrade to a superior room (2159)on the ground floor for €66. We agreed to this as it was just far too inconvenient being so far from the kids’ pool. The following day we head down to the kid’s pool and our daughter sees all the kids in the kids club having fun so wants to go in. I took her in, signed the form stating her name, age etc and not to be allowed to leave on her own. 10 mins later we’re sitting by the pool and our 4year old daughter appears next to us!?!?!!!!!
She had wandered out of the ‘secure area’ and come to find us?, as you can imagine, the thought of her not finding us and wondering around on her own is pretty scary. I took her back in and the girl didn’t seem to understand the problem.
We went to reception and complained and were told the manager would be informed, it wouldn’t happen again and that the kids are all safe. We went into the kids club with our daughter the next day and the girl was apologetic saying it was the first day and she didn’t realise. It’s now Saturday and nobody has been in touch with us from the management team. So we don’t even know if our complaint has been logged.
What sort of service is this from a 5 star hotel, any hotel for that matter. We haven’t let our daughter out of our sight since. So no, we wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
The worst experience ever. Missold hotel room and had to leave!
My family have just had the worst experience at Raddison in Gran Canaria Mogan. As we were travelling with a disabled person, we had to ask what the bathrooms were like before we booked.They sent us pictures of their bathrooms which we approved and subsequently booked. When we arrived, the bathroom was not suitable at all and we asked where the room was that we had booked. They then said that the images they had sent us of the bathroom were NOT of images from their hotel!! We couldn’t believe it but they told us that someone from their team sent images from google and those bathrooms didn’t exist.
We have spent a lot of money coming out to celebrate my Dad’s 82nd birthday and we realise that we cannot stay.
The service that followed was so disappointing where they just absolved themselves of all responsibilities. We had to move to another hotel and they were not even prepared to pay the difference even though we only got on a plane because of their misleading images.
We had to get a taxi to the other hotel and they even refused to pay for that. They just said they wouldn’t charge for the first night as if that was some kind of compensation. 24 hours of not being able to use the sink is shocking and they frankly didn’t care. We requested to see the General Manager but just got the reception manager. The GM never showed his face.
In the UK, misselling is illegal and I am sure that even in Spain, selling pictures of rooms that don’t exist is probably also a problem. Whilst mistakes happen, the lack of ownership and sense of responsibility means we would never stay at a Radisson again.
Avoid if you are looking for a relaxing holiday with no smells
Currently sitting on the balcony trying to relax……music is blasting out across the resort. This place resembles Club Med. It is not what you think.
The buffet resembles school dinners with tasteless food. A quiet breakfast after 9 am is tricky. Whilst the facilities are very good if you are looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy the spa – go elsewhere – you will definitely be disappointed.
We had to be removed from our room as it smelt of sewage. The second room was better although we received the occasional whiff from the sinks. Apparently, according to one of the maids, this is a problem in the resort.
The activities resemble a glorified Butlins with darts, mini discos, games etc. I expected to come to a 5* resort with spa, gym, relaxation and good food. 5* it is not. This is not a place for couples. Parents with young children fine. It resembles the volume of people on a cruise ship with no ocean in sight. Cut out the loud music forced upon you, improve the food 300%, improve staff and you have a very, very large decent resort.
I feel the website does not relay the focus on families enough. Feel extremely disappointed and tricked into booking something it is not. I now would avoid Raddison Blu like the plague.
I can only guess the five star reviews on this website are either false, young families or are deaf. Good luck.
Awful experience checking in such rude staff member.
I posted this on the other Radisson hotel in Gran Canaria and just getting to post it now on correct one.
We have just arrived back to the hotel. We were here at New Year and loved it so much we booked again. What a change and a let down exceptionally rude staff at reception.
No welcome like the last time.
We asked for the Same area as the last time and we were put in the noisiest part. The Manager tried to help but the damage is done now at this stage. There is a wall outside the room and its very claustrophobic. So disappointed no care for repeat guests. We won ‘t be coming back.
The hotel rallied the next day and changed room and apologised. But this rude member of staff is still with the same sullen and impolite attitude.
It’s not good enough for a hotel of this standard.

I booked this hotel as a gift for my sister for her wedding night. Before selecting the hotel I looked at all five stars hotels on the Island and I chose Radisson Blu Mogan based on the positive reviews on TripAdvisor and also as it is a prestigious hotel chain with high standards…
