Below are some reviews from Sedona Summit Owners and Guests. If you have a more specific question please contact our team of experts and we will respond with an answer as soon as possible.
This is our first time at Sedona Summit and I have mixed reviews.
The resort has a great location and the landscaping is amazing all over the resort. We are staying in a one-bedroom Sunset Suite. The unit size is comparable to what we are used to.
The kitchen has most of what would be expected in this type of timeshare unit. The pool area near us is nice and there is also a hot tub nearby. The unit we are in needs some updating.
The carpet and bathroom are in need of cleaning. The bathroom also needs to have some base tile replaced. The view out of our back door is the main street and our front view overlooks another street, but we can see part of the mesa in the distance.
We already have a week booked for our anniversary, so I am hoping we can obtain a room with a better view and maybe a unit that is cleaner as well as updated.
Terrible to no wifi
This review is addressed to the management. PLEASE FIX WIFI AND MAKE IT WORK. it is not recommended – you MUST do something about it.
I’ve been staying at Sedona Summit for 8 years and considered it a nice and decent hotel… but both wifi connection and cell coverage are terrible. In both rooms and reception area. I was incredibly upset my recent visit and talked to the Reception to deliver my concerns to the management because I could not even check in for my flight! I started in the room and then went to the lobby and the site won’t load for minutes. I was told you changed a provider a year before but it did not improve service. As for cell coverage, I was on roaming and the phone hardly worked even while showing full bars. Hence I could not use my data either. Frustrating, to say the least.
You charge $12 per day resort fee which includes wifi – you’d better ensure it works.
I’ve stayed in many hotels and B&Bs throughout the years, including 2 weeks ago, and Sedona Summit has the worst wifi, i.e. no wifi! Please fix it or make your resort fee optional.
Just say NO to Diamond!
We have owned at Diamond Resorts for over 20 years. After many years of attempting to stay in their different facilities, they seem to always be supposedly “booked” for their owners. They keep rooms open for public so they can sucker you into buying. We have always used day passes for the pool at many different locations, but apparently, that is not is not allowed any longer as well.
The manager at Sedona Summit “Seth” refused to let us use their pool for an hour. The rooms end up cheaper booked through Priceline or hotels.com than what they even offer the people that paid good money for them.
TIME SHARE SALES INCESSANT~
We won’t stay at any Diamond Resorts anymore. Sad to say. This is our 3rd year to Sedona and we enjoyed the Diamond “Ridge on Sedona Golf” resort that last two years, and decided to try the West side this year, the “Sedona summit“.
The resort is older and the facility itself is fine, same style rooms etc. BUT our week there was ruined somewhat by the fact that the salespeople literally chased us around. Yes I exaggerate…but it started from minute one when we walked in the door until the minute we checked out. NOT ONCE do they admit they are trying to sell you a timeshare…that’s the worst part. After driving, flying, then driving some more…do you really want to go sit down and listen to offers, activities and make an apt for a sales pitch…OR DO YOU JUST WANT THE KEY TO YOUR ROOM? I had to be rude and argue with them that I was NOT going to a different building to do VIP check in (since I’M SO SPECIAL).
We had 3 studio condos for my husband’s bro and sis and us. We arrive at different times, and they made his brother go to the VIP check in, and would not give him the key to his room. Every time you go into the lobby they want you to go to their concierge for a ‘free snacks and water” and then it starts…OH and the phone calls to all three of us the week before with messages like “It’s URGENT we hear from you…(like there’s something wrong with our reservation) and then incessant emails before during and after…YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED FOR THIS FREE EVENT -I finally called someone before we arrived and very nicely asked that we be taken off the call and email list, that I already own 4 weeks of timeshare IN HAWAII and use Interval to trade into their resort, and really am not interested in any more timeshare purchases.
We did sit through one last year, as we fell for a lie about ABSOLUTELY NO SALES PITCH and it was a total lie.
They traded people on us 3 times before they let us go. Yes, they did give us a meal…but we had to eat them with sales person!!! INTERVAL PEOPLE BEWARE…Unless you want to be hounded. BTW We flew from Alaska, Oregon and Florida to spend our week together, not running from sales people. And they are all so nice, they just looked soooo hurt when you say NO.
Oh and in case you wondered, the WIFI is terrible…phone calls difficult, walk 100 yards either way and it’s good. The television is TERRIBLE…and I never once saw them clean the pools. never again. OH and they tried to stick us ON THE HIGHWAY…we luckily found a sweet girl by calling in…not by walking in…who got us moved to an inner condo. If you go there, ask for a room with a red rock view, maybe you will be lucky. We had a view of a sidewalk…and a parking lot. better than the highway tho…
Average ++ but can’t say "very good"
Sedona Summit is a Diamond Resorts International property, so we booked it using points rather than cash. I’m not sure I would give it a “very good” rating if I had to use cash, but it was better than average. The lay-out of the unit was odd, with a sliding “window” between the bathroom and bedroom — why, when there was also a door from the bathroom to the bedroom? Large separate bathtub, which I would have assumed had jacuzzi jets, but it did not, so we did not use it. Very large separate shower, but the showerhead left much to be desired. Good pressure, but the flow itself was minimal. On the whole, the unit was very clean and had nice furniture. If your goal is to see the beautiful red rocks of Sedona and the surrounding area, it’s an OK place to stay. The property is well kept, the 4 pools are nice, there is a small playground for the kids. We were satisfied but probably would not stay there again.
