Let Mercantile Claims help you with Los Abrigados Timeshare Release, Claims & Compensation
Owners of Diamond Resorts timeshares often find themselves trapped in infinite agreements with rapidly increasing maintenance fees which ultimately stem from a mis-sold timeshare contract. In recent years, there have been some ground-breaking rulings regarding mis-sold timeshares by many timeshare groups and resorts leading to refunds and compensation. Many owners of Los Abrigados Resort timeshare agreements are entitled to or have already made claims.
There has been a huge rise in timeshare release enquiries and timeshare complaints from clients with Los Abrigados Resort timeshares. Diamond Resorts owners have cited some of the reasons for wanting to get rid of their timeshare including a high rise in fees including annual maintenance fees, aggressive hard-sell tactics used to sell the timeshare at the resort presentation, and the selling of Agreements committing owners to paying fees “in perpetuity”
BEWARE TIMESHARE MARKETING DECEPTION DIAMOND RESORT LOS ABRIGADOS
I am at Los Abrigados Resort in Sedona Az. on a timeshare trade, along with my 2 daughters and am familiar with timeshare ‘presentations’; sit thru 90 minute sales pitch in return for promotions of some sort.
on the first day of our arrival, I received a call to my room from a man from the concierge desk. he noted that I already owned a timeshare as I was there on a trade, at which point he offered me a $125 VISA + $50 resort certificates. we made an appt. for 11:30a.m. today. However, when I arrived they had no record of my appt.
Nice desk person said she would have to get clearance to honour what I had been offered. Marketing Mgr, Ryan Dowling arrived and acquainted with the situation he REFUSED to honour the offer BECAUSE MY HUSBAND WAS NOT WITH ME! That point had not been mentioned. (this is 2016, not 1956)
Because I was so offended by the Marketing manager’s refusal to honour the initial offer, I contacted Diamond Resorts International to report the bad treatment. MUCH to my surprise, Diamond Resorts backed up the manager’s decision to not honour the offer presented to me by their employee.
All of which leaves me with the understanding that Diamond Resorts sanctions unethical behaviours in their marketing departments and should be AVOIDED at all costs.

WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN
After our stay and review in May of Los Abrigados, we discovered that we had left our swim attire outside on the chairs on the 2nd floor balcony.
We called Los Abrigados to find out if they had found them. After a week or so, they responded that they did not find them. We thought that rather unusual since the cleaners would have found them as soon as we left.
However, they were not turned in by anyone. We contacted the security manager who was to look into it.
He asked us to file a police report which we did and then fill out several forms to file an insurance claim, which we also did. Long story short, after several months of following their guidelines, we received a letter after we returned from our month’s long vacation, denying any compensation.
As a reminder, if you stay at a timeshare property, typically all they want is NEW members…..DO NOT expect SERVICE……WE WILL NEVER STAY AT LOS ABRIGADOS AGAIN
Perhaps if you like timeshares.. definitely not a resort
My friend and I were travelling to Sedona for the first time looking for a comfortable yet affordable hotel. We booked Los Abrigados Resort and Spa through her corporate travel program and were expecting a resort experience.
The moment we landed we received a phone call stating that they did not have a room available for us and we needed to go to a sister resort for the night and then switch.
We arrived at the replacement resort and they didn’t have a record of the complimentary night and the screw up on Los Abrigados‘ end. After a while, they put us in a room and we had to drive down to a building to get to the room. We didn’t like the lack of security especially at night and the general apartment style set up of the complex. The rooms were spacious and nice but there were absolutely no amenities.
After our first night in Los Abrigados, we were anticipating room service as we are accustomed to with other resorts we have stayed with.
When we called guest services to request cleaning we were greeted rudely by the staff who asked “what we wanted” and “why we needed housekeeping” bewildered I requested that someone come the next morning.
No one came until a day or 2 later and we had to call several times between our 6 day stay to request cleaning. They did not in fact clean, only switched towels, however, we found we were missing valuables.
When we needed to extend our stay 4 days we were not treated with care, simply told we could only extend 2 days and our corporate price would not be met. When we asked to be put in a sister resort that was denied. This is surprising as we would anticipate they would want our business, however, this is not a typical hotel chain that provides hospitality, they are a timeshare complex.
My friend lost her diamond ring and whenever she asked management to look out for it she was greeted rudely and pushed to the side. Now that I think of it we should have returned and called the authorities.
We also got several calls about sitting in on the timeshare sales pitches in exchange for $150 in a voucher for food or spa. As we are young professionals this did not appeal to us and we felt segregated against when it came to customer service.
Not only do I not recommend this resort, but I will not stay at any Diamond branded chain.
Disappointed
Los Abrigados is sorely in need of an overhaul and upgrade.
It looks tired and worn.
There are many steps to the main entrance.
The furniture in my one-bedroom suite had seen better days.
The toilet doesn’t meet ADA standards; it’s very low to the floor.
Worst of all, I found a dying cockroach on the floor of the living room.
The worst hotel experience of our lives
Trash left behind, uncleaned floors, unspeakable stains on furniture, no water and no warning of shutoff, to name a few
The worst hotel experience of our lives. Details other than those mentioned in the title will only be for effect, mainly, but to add a few – parking is inadequate – more rooms than spaces.
Dirty microwave oven with cooked in food throughout it’s interior… dried food on the plates in the cupboard.
Lip stains on the glasses. Ants (ok…I know, bugs are hard to keep out sometimes, but watching the colony grow during our stay was a bit much)…It was so awful, we left three days early and spent the remainder of our week in a Marriott in Phoenix.
Unfortunately, the stay at Los Abrigados put a damper on an otherwise lovely visit to Sedona. One of two redeeming qualities of the hotel – It’s proximity to shopping and the two restaurants located onsite. We enjoyed both immensely.
Has only the town of Sedona to recommend it
As a timeshare owner, we exchanged our week for one at Los Abrigados in beautiful Red Rock Country, Sedona, Arizona. A welcoming cup of coffee in the Reception area after a long drive would have been a pleasure but we declined when confronted with the $2.50 per person charge!
From Reception, it went downhill. The room boasted a kitchen, which turned out to be a 3-ft tall fridge, a two-burner hotplate, and a microwave.
For a weeklong stay we were forced to use our ice chest as a second fridge.
The walls and ceiling are paper-thin in the unit we were given, and when the housekeeper ran the vacuum upstairs above our room we were forced to turn off the TV and wait for 15 minutes until she was finished.
The choice of wall paint and drapes reminded me of something right out of the 1970s. Internet service charges for non-owners is highway robbery. Motel 6 would have been a better option, as service is free there.
Los Abrigados should be at the bottom of any list of accommodations in Sedona unless one absolutely, positively has to reside next door to Tlaquepaque marketplace.
Roaches, mosquitos, and flies.... Yuk
I have stayed at Los Abrigados before (2 years ago) and my experience was great. This time (early October) however there were bugs everywhere. There were roaches all over the resort at night and I saw several in my room. At no time did I leave my door open except for coming and going. I also had no food in my room at all that would attract them.
There were also flies and mosquitos in my room. I left with bites all over me :-(. I did notify the front desk and he was very nice and said they would send someone right up to check it out for the next guest etc.
If you know ahead of time that there is not a lot of food/drink options at the resort that would make for a more pleasant stay as well. Stop at the store and grab food and coffee before coming! There is a cute little cafe nearby that has coffee and breakfast if you need it.
Overall Sedona is amazing and beautiful. This resort is very cool looking but it’s getting a little dated in the rooms and it feels quite overpriced for what you get.
Price is right, but it’s ranked 46 of 48 in Sedona for a reason.
1. Central location, average quality accommodations with some clear signs of wear and tear.
2. Concierges may be able to access attractions/tours, but would like to send you to a timeshare seminar first.
3. One of the concierges (Devon) offered to book us with a different balloon company than requested, then became critical when we decided to stay with our original plan. Started bargaining down the price from the “best price” he started with, and got defensive when told that we weren’t enjoying the hard sell. He then threatened to have security throw us off the property when I asked to speak to his manager.
4. Duty manager advised of this took no action, did not follow up, and did not note our file. When we checked out the next day as planned, it was as if nothing had happened.
5 Great follow-up from their sales department, which keeps calling despite our requests to the contrary. I’ve asked each sales person to put me in touch with customer service to discuss items 3 and 4 above, but when the phone rings from Diamond Resorts, it’s sales.
Summary: there’s a reason this place is ranked 46 of 48 in Sedona.
Scam
This is connected to Diamonds Resorts which is a timeshare, annual high maintenance fees, high-pressure sales pitch. All just to get you hooked and once they get you signed up they don’t care about you. So don’t fall for this scam
