Embarrassed
I am a Diamond Resorts owner and booked a getaway for a girlfriend through Interval International. They checked in yesterday (3/15/17). My friend has her elderly grandmother with her, as well as her dad. Greensprings put them into a filthy room, and the room also has a lot of broken items.
They complained about this, and were given an attitude. My friend’s dad then asked to speak with the Manager, who was not in. They are moving them, but this is not until tonight, and this should have never happened in the first place. A complete inconvenience, and extremely difficult for her elderly grandmother. I am embarrassed as a Diamond Resorts owner, and have had this happen before at this resort, as well as the Powhaten, both Williamsburg Diamond properties. I will never book anyone at either property again.

Fraudulent Charges!
I was charged $189.74 on my credit card for supposed “missing pots and pans”. I did NOT take any items that did not belong to me. No phone call was ever initiated to question the missing items, nor any e-mail. I thought it was a duplicate room charge at first. When they explained what the charge was, I pleaded my innocence, yet they could not make a resolution. I called two other times today and one other time to their corporate office. All they can say is “we’ll have someone call you”. Someone has not called, I’m left to file a dispute with credit card company and cancel my card so that the crooks at Greensprings cannot line their pocket with my blood. Either their maids have a lovely kitchen or their bookkeepers are padding profits! Either way, it’s a crooked organization. They made zero effort to calm me down, I felt very violated, and will never give them the opportunity again.
Place great..service..not do much
Pulling in to the GreenSprings vacation resort you immediately note how beautiful it is and how absolutely huge it is. The accommodations are modern and clean. They have a number of activities like mini golf and an indoor pool to keep you occupied. I was there in spring so outside pool wasn’t open. Very pleased with the place.. The rooms and the activities.
Service, however, left much to be desired.
Warning. Although its a hotel don’t expect your bed to be fixed and your rooms to be cleaned unless you stay more than seven days. I didn’t know that..now I do.
Don’t expect clean linens unless you specifically request. Didn’t know, now I do.
My fiance hurt herself in their parking lot, tripped and hurt her leg. I mentioned it to their concierge. Not so much of a …is she alright..can we do anything.
I noticed an attitude as soon as we checked in. A real enthusiasm and pleasant nature until they pulled up our reservation. Then like a switch being flipped. Instant shortness.
I’m not sure if it was the short length of our stay or the fact we booked through a third party but there was a clear change.
I probably will come back..but I know not to expect much in the way of service.
Not worth the money.
Got a 4 bedroom for our extended family. The grounds look nice and the pool is fabulous. That is where it ends. The rooms are seriously outdated and in need of repair/upgrade. The rooms are not clean very well. My grandchildren found laundry including dirty underwear underneath the beds left by the previous guest. We asked for a pack and play for the baby, it was delivered but with no linens. When we called the front desk we were told they do not have linens for a pack and play. I called Diamond Resorts in Vegas and was told a manager would talk to me. I was promised many things and was finally able to get a manager at the resort by emailing him. I was promised I could get my points back, I was promised I was going to get a voucher for a future stay for free, it has been a week and nothing happened. It is definitely not worth the extra points or dollars to stay at Greensprings when you can stay at the Powhatan historic resort and use all the amenities like a nicer pool at Greensprings.
Groupon Buyers Beware - Schedule During a Snowstorm And Lose Your Money
I wish I could tell you about the great stay that our family had at Greensprings, which was purchased through Groupon months ago. Unfortunately, though, Virginia is under a state of emergency due to a snowstorm, and it was unsafe to travel the day we were supposed to check in.
A little snow wouldn’t be an issue, but this is a LOT of snow.
We contacted the Diamond Resorts reservation line to see if we could change the dates of the reservation. They approved the change to the reservation date but told us that only Groupon could make the actual reservation change. We contacted Groupon, and they told us only Diamond Resorts can make the change. Astonishingly, this back and forth goes on for multiple calls. We had 6 contacts, 3 with Diamond Resorts, 3 with Groupon. The Diamond Resorts reservation line and Greensprings front desk were polite, but tell us they don’t have the authority to help. Groupon maintains that only Diamond Resorts can make the change, and one of the Groupon representatives we talked to was borderline rude and hostile to boot. The end result? They keep the money, no vacation for us.
Good family property and facilities, but...Shields Up!
Great location and property. We booked it through Airbnb.
I would recommend that guests be aware of the implications that arise from the timeshare nature of this property. You are not under an obligation to attend a sales pitch if you a guest of Airbnb or another such site, but the “Concierge Desk” is actually a mini high-pressure sales pitch to get you to attend one anyway. I recommend you politely skip it. They will protest HEAVILY and act personally offended if you do this. Just smile and say “no thank you, I’ve already been welcomed,” and head to your condo, key in hand.
Also, recommend you check out early, as our key cards were deactivated 30 minutes before posted check out time. I read reviews here that this has happened to many other people, and that it’s likely a ploy to get you to come to the “concierge desk” for one last sales pitch. I climbed back into our condo from the second-floor balcony to carry the last armload of belongings to the car (TAKE THAT!). We also received a phone call from a sales representative the night before departure.
Diamond Resorts has a reputation of being high pressure and downright rude at times to sell their timeshares, and this place is no exception. BUT—–If your shields are up, this is a great place to stay for families!
Disappointed
When we first drove onto the grounds, we were impressed. Beautiful landscaping!
After checking in, my husband was badgered about a timeshare. He kindly turned it down and then was badgered again, when he turned it down again, he was requested to call back as soon as he got to the room and set it up. They then proceeded to call 3 more times during our 2 day stay about a timeshare. One time, calling early in the morning and waking up our children.
If I had known we were going to be annoyed by timeshares, we wouldn’t have stayed here. Also, I reserved rooms that were king/king/queen/twins. I double checked the room arrangement before we came.
When we arrived, they said they didn’t have a queen room. So we ended up with king/twins/king/twins, which resulted in my parents having to sleep in little twin beds. Unacceptable when I even confirmed this before our arrival. There is a disconnect between VRBO and the resort. Also, I’m assuming our rooms weren’t the updated ones and that is fine, but a dirty room is not. My nephew walked around on the carpet barefoot and his little feet were BLACK after about 20 minutes. We all had to wear shoes from then on.
One kitchen had red/orange sauce splatter all over the stove, microwave and wall, like it was never even cleaned. The blinds in the kitchen were sticky with splatter all over them.
I had to clean the dining room table myself because there was crumbs on it! Many stains on the dining room chairs. We also did not use the bathroom in the king bedroom because the bathroom floor was sticky with brown smears on it.
With 3 young children in these rooms, we were just not happy with the cleanliness. The hallway up to the rooms had filthy, stained carpet with dried stuff running down the walls. Linens/beds were comfy and clean. The dishwasher was nice!
We did enjoy the indoor pool. It was warm and the kids loved it. We stayed 2 nights and were ready to go home :-( Sad, because this was a family vacation with parents/grown kids and their families.
We don’t get to see each other often but we wish we had met somewhere else.
