Disgraceful behaviour from the owner.
We visited as a family for lunch on Saturday afternoon for my mothers birthday.
My father phoned to book a table and asked if we could have a table overlooking the water and he was told that they couldn’t guarantee a table as they would be too busy. We arrived at the stated time to find the place empty and for the whole of our time there we were the only customers!
We ordered 4 sandwiches, an omelette and a child’s turkey dinosaurs. We waited over 30 mins for the food.
At the end of the afternoon, we paid in excess of £110 for above-mentioned food along with 2 children’s ice creams and 3 cakes and a couple of drinks. Which is excessive but would have been fine except for the lack of service and the male owner’s people skills.
After we had paid the bill my daughter who is just turned 5 had gone into the patio area with her nanna and without nanna noticing had picked some flowers off one of the 2 pansy plants in the area.
The owner brought this to my attention at which I apologised profusely and told my daughter off and she apologised.
My father and husband also apologised.
The owner refused to speak to us and was actually petulant in the way he kept his head down and refused to reply when we said thank you goodbye.
All four adults said thank you and goodbye but he refused to look up and acknowledge us.
I obviously do not condone what my daughter did, however, I also find it unacceptable that having spent in excess of £100 on a sandwich lunch that an owner of a family cafe could be so rude, petulant and obtuse over a few petals on a £2 plant.
Hence to say we will not be returning.

Unimpressed
The people running this place think nothing of keeping boat owners waiting for jobs to be done for more than a year.
After some work was finally done on my boat, several items went missing.
I’m glad other reviewers had better luck, but I can only go by my own experience of being moored here for four years.
I ought to have left sooner.
Not great
I visited yesterday as it was one of the official rest stops for the 100km charity bike ride I was taking part in. obviously, they were going to be busy with hundreds of cyclists stopping for refreshments, I would’ve thought they’d have some bacon sandwiches or breakfast items on offer.
As it was the only ‘breakfast’ on offer was a ‘giant barmcake’, caked in margarine with 2 small cheap sausages on, halved lengthways they still looked lost on the barmcake.
For this we were charged £3.50, which would’ve been fine if it was a decent amount of sausages, blatant profiteering from a charity event in my opinion.
Decent food rude owner!
Popped in for an impromptu lunch. Nice venue.
All went downhill when I asked the owner to please clean the table as it had salt all over it.
From then on he was brusk and surly.
Young waiter was polite.
Shame when the food came it was nicely cooked and presented but couldn’t wait to get out of the place as felt unwelcome.
A first for me and as you see I’ve reviewed a lot of places…
Advice give it a wide berth!
