After the ground-breaking ruling passed by the Spanish Supreme Court in 2015, customers were refunded 40,000 euros and granted timeshare releases – after timeshares were mis-sold.
This ruling along with other major judgments has meant that customers are entitled to timeshare releases and claims against resorts such as Club La Costa under the following circumstances:
Dirty, Old, Small and noisy appartement. Never again.
Select Marina Park
Accommodation is nothing like the pictures from the travel agent. At arrival we had to wait 4 hours for the app. was cleaned. Then we get to the app. it was still dirty, sticky ground hairs everywhere and breadcrumbs on the sofa. Balcony full of food remains from the previous renter.
We had to take very steep stairs (50 steps) with 3 suitcases, 2 bags and a buggy and 2 year old to get to the app. Not very relaxed to say the leased. We have an apartment upstairs again steep stairs without stairgate, child cot or high chair as requested. Very dangerous for a 2-year-old.
You can hear the highway constantly and it very loud.
The apartment is so small you can store the suitcases and buggy anywhere. It’s a bit claustrophobic. If I have known it was like this I never booked this accommodation. For a ☆☆☆☆ star apartment at this price is terrible!
Never Spain.

Mixed feelings
Need a car to get around their is a bus service outside the resort ok going down the hill but if you have any mobility issues then no good as a steep hill to get back up unless you get a taxi.
My room, not all rooms has no view or balcony. Room only cleaned 1 time in the 9 days we were there, the bar is very overpriced also the food. A pizza in the bar was 10 euros.
But they had a great little shop where it was very good priced surprisingly.
We had family in another room with was a 2-bed great balcony with sea views i
Ifound the staff so nice always happy to help overall could do with getting updated.
But would return having said all that, but would just go to the supermarket for food and drinks
Family Holiday
Just back from 2 weeks at Club La Costa. Stayed in Marina Park Select . Travelled with 2 other families and my 2 teenage children.
My sister had booked one of the private apartments. I booked via booking.com and got a 2 bed apartment costing £2750 for the 2 weeks paying 2.5 times what my sister had.
The apartment was clean, spacious however tired and a bit damp smelling upstairs. The patio area was tiny and we could barely sit 3 people out on it for breakfast when the accommodation was for 6.
The apartment was cleaned and towels changed twice in 2 weeks
The pool areas are very small and not reflective of the size of the resort. Spent a few days at the pool near Zachary’s and entertainment was limited.
The resort is out of town and a good 20 (30 to really central part) min walk into town.
The restaurants on site were average. Safari by far the best. We did discover a few restaurants we would recommend within walking distance. El patio de faro, Don Maria and the Ponderosa.
I really did not think this resort was good value for money.
Rude staff
Paid £2390 to come here for family holiday, apartment beautiful only cleaned twice in two weeks tho. Restaurant on our door step over priced and bar staff very very rude. Also Barr staff helping them selfs to tips waiting on change and they don’t come back with it, we always leave tips where ever we go, even for taxi drivers but this made me angry. The pool area, not enough sun loungers to accommodate people. Paying the money we have to come here to be treated like crap, Sorry to say but I will never step foot in this place again.
Lovely resort, worst meal
Just back our holiday here. We took our 2 children (6+3) and my mum. Booked a 2 bedroom apartment. Staff at the resort are lovely and very helpful. We had issues checking in as apparently my booking had been cancelled. (Erm no it hasn’t! ) eventually got in. Apartment lovely and they helped us with baggage. A little bit dated but had everything you need. The resort is huge and we were given a map of the 5 pools we could use. One very close by and one by Zacherys. The other 2 were too far a walk. The pool at Zachary’s is small and very busy. I would assume as this one has a bar it’s like the main pool but we didn’t like it. Just too busy and small. Fortunately for us the other one was great.
The resort itself is lovely but like other reviews have said very hilly. We did struggle with the children and buggies etc. It wouldn’t be so bad if we could have stayed in the resort to eat but it is extremely overpriced. That wouldn’t be such a problem if the food was ok but it wasn’t. El Rancho has to be the worst and most expensive meal we had all fortnight. El Rancho is where the “children’s” entertainment is on. Not sure if we just missed it but it’s a play park with bouncy castle and trampolines all of which you had to pay for. The kids loved it so we did go a few nights but not too eat again.
Previous reviews said Fuengirola is 25 minutes walk away. It must depend on where you stay within the resort as it took us 45 mins to get from our apartment across the bridge to the start of the road where the restaurants are on with the buggy and children. The beach is closer maybe 15 mins and was great. Plus we got the bus quite a few times as just too far to walk in the heat.
The is a pub/restaurant called the Ponderosa which was a life saver when we couldn’t be bothered going too far for dinner. Just take a left after el rancho before the horses and they do good food at reasonable prices. We are there a couple of times.
We did enjoy our holiday but don’t think we would come back. Just too far out and too hilly with the kids plus restaurants on site were disappointing.
