Let Mercantile Claims assist you with Marriott Timeshare Release, Claims & Compensation
Owners of Marriott Resorts timeshares often find themselves trapped in infinite contracts with rapidly increasing maintenance fees which ultimately stems from a mis-sold timeshare contract. Over recent years there have been a number of Timeshae Law ground-breaking rulings regarding mis-sold timeshares by many timeshare groups and resorts which have resulted in refunds and compensation. Many owners of SurfWatch Resort timeshare contracts are entitled to, or have already made claims.
There has been a huge increase in timeshare release enquires and complaints from customers with Marriott’s SurfWatch timeshares.
Not a great experience for what you pay !
The Marriott Surf watch looks good on paper but fails to deliver. There are no restaurants on the property and nothing within walking distance. Checking in and out was a nightmare. Be prepared to carry all your luggage because there is rarely a cart available.
The first few days we were there they had advertised of a raffle and breakfast. We went down the morning of the breakfast and there was nothing left. No coffee. I was lucky to get one tiny muffin.
Then to add insult to injury the staff used the breakfast as a front for a sales pitch for timeshares.
The beach was quite a walk. We had a 6 month old so we did not want to use the golf carts they had escorting people around. I was really turned off at the fact that these golf carts were whizzing past you one after another on the pedestrian bridges. My baby really enjoyed the exhaust fumes everytime they sped by. Thanks, Marriott.

Property has declined in 5 years
We joined our family for a vacation at the Surf Watch for the first time in 5 years and what a disappointment!
We have been travelling to Surf Watch since it was built. The property grounds still look great and decorated nicely for the holidays. I was extremely disappointed in the upkeep of the villas.
While new carpet and new Upholstery have been completed in the villa, it is small details that I’m extremely disappointed in being Marriott Owner.
In our unit, the humidity and moisture were out of control and extremely high. Nothing we did with the air or heat seems to fix it.
The bedroom near the front door held water in the window and window seal.
The room was damp the entire time. The water ran down the wall as well, so that equals mould!
The bathroom fan was not working and the cleanliness of the bathroom tile and walls were questionable. The kitchen was missing several essentials (cookie sheet, spoons, etc)….the kitchen floor shoe moulding was pieced together and just looked like a sorry job was done. Anyway……probably our last visit to Surf Watch. It’s been a great 10+years, but the property interior has declined greatly.
A Little Worn
Spent a week at Surf Watch and it was pretty darn dull and not very comfortable.
I understand these villas were recently refurbed. The kitchen, living and dining rooms were fine and the master bath shower awesome with it multiple sprays and jets! However, the beds were like rocks.
This was a 2 bedroom villa with 1 king and 2 queens. Since it was just my husband and me, it soon became a game of musical beds as we tried them all, trying to find one we could actually sleep in without feeling like we had broken backs in the A.M.
The two pools were unimpressive! The grounds not manicured. The property consists of 3 villa buildings. Even though we are Marriott Platinum, we ended up in the one farthest from the beach….it was a long walk!
Hilton Head’s tourist sites were developed in the 60s….and it appears nothing has been done since. We found it very worn and tired! We checked out a day early.
Okay
The surf watch was okay, but they were not willing to accommodate two families that wanted to be together. We started calling months before and continued to call every week. Yet they found it necessary to split us up from each other.
They sell timeshares here and I could never think of buying here because of the bad taste in my mouth. The property was fantastic (next to the beach), and the rooms fantastic. But the staff was horrible and did nothing to help us out.
This was our third time here and will definitely be our last. It’s a shame because we used to love this place.
When we entered the room, there was cookies on the floor (not a dupe huge deal, but still unclean).
It was nice to have a three bedroom villa with tons of activities throughout the property. But this time, they were charging $3.00 for s’mores and other things. I say ad five dollars to my room rate and don’t leave the impression that I’m being “nickel and dimed”.
Sadly Disappointed
First time staying at Surf Watch and we won’t be returning. We paid a lot of money for s six-night stay. When we went to our room at around 5:00 pm they were still cleaning it! We left and came back.
We never got a good nights sleep because in the middle of the night there was a piercing beep every night that lasted about 30 seconds. It happened 3-4 times each night. We complained but they didn’t fix it by the time we left.
It is a nice resort. A bit of a walk to the beach and it’s spread out. It’s not close to most of the activities or restaurants. They only have 2 outdoor pools. One is small and was crowded.
The sales presentation we had to sit through was long and the salesman was insulting to us.
We expected a lot more from Marriot. We won’t stay there again.
OK but disappointed
Having stayed at almost all of the Marriott resorts on Hilton Head, we were disappointed with our stay at the Marriott Surf Watch. While it is a beautiful resort and one of the newest for Marriott on the island, the warmth and staff members displayed attitudes are not up to par as compared to the other Marriott resorts. The resort is spread out and a good distance from the beach. The resort itself is very nice and well-done, but just not our cup of tea.
We have visited this resort on a couple of visits while staying at other resorts and knew beforehand that it was not a resort of choice, but it was the only one available at the time of making reservations through Interval International. However two days later, several other Marriott exchanges became available and Interval would not switch without another exchange fee
