Great Suite, Not-So-Great Pre/Post Customer Service
We recently stayed at the Rivergrass Suite for the 2017 NYE weekend at Blue Mountain and it was fantastic. The rooms were clean, we had everything we needed in the kitchen and a lovely girl came everyday to ask if we needed more towels etc.
The issues I had with the whole experience though, are the following:
– we specifically asked for an earlier check-in because we have a toddler. We called and they made a note of it in the system. They did say they would try to accommodate us as their check-in time is usually 4PM, but we had to call 3 times to ask and/or remind them to see if our room was ready… they finally gave us a room around 3PM.
– when I initially placed the reservation, I asked them to charge my Visa but I had advised them that I needed to actually run the charges through the AMEX and they said it was OK for me to get the refund afterwards and then charge the other card. I asked twice over the phone when I made the reservations (to make certain), once in person during check-in (but they couldn’t oblige then… which makes no sense), and once again, during check-out via the phone. That’s 4 times in total, and notes were made on my account previously — however, they still managed to NOT charge the AMEX (correct card) and accidentally issued a small refund back onto my Visa. I called just now to ask what happened… and no one could help as they kept bouncing me around to front desk, to a live person somewhere else, and back again. This went on for a good 20 mins until one person decided to actually do something about it.The only saving grace is Sherri-Leigh, in customer service, who decided I needed a live-body soon, and took my name and phone number down to get someone to call me back. Thank you, I appreciate your wonderful customer service. This girl deserves a raise! Also, thanks for getting Angela – the assistant-manager to get things sorted out. Really appreciate that!
I’m not sure where I went wrong… but obviously, the personnel taking care of charges/refunds etc. didn’t understand the notes… but it seems to be fixed now. It just took forever and all the confirmations were pointless and a waste of time, since the note was misinterpreted…

Amazing time Rivergrass Apartments!
My girlfriend and I went with another couple and spent an amazing 3 nights at Blue Mountain Rivergrass apartments. The hotspring is really close by (right in our backyard) and no one else was using it most of the time, so we really enjoyed it. The apartment was comfortable, spacious, warm, had all needed amenities, and had modern interior decor. We loved our stay and would return again.
Love it here
This was our first time staying at blue mountain. We chose Rivergrass because it seemed to fit our budget the best. When we arrived we checked in at the designated area we were given and it went very smoothly, we were given directions and our room number. When we checked in we immediately fell in love with our accommodations. We normally stay at an average motel room so this was luxury for us. My kids liked to pool very much and we were walking distance to the village. The rooms were clean and well cared for. The only thing if I were to pick was the next morning before check out my kids wanted to swim in the pool but the gates were locked despite it saying the pool was open at 8am…..it stated you needed a key to get in…..but we had not key…the condos unlock with a key pad…..so my kids were very disappointed. Also check in time is at 4 and check out is at 11….so I don’t feel that was a very long time for the amount of money we spent, but I realize it is a hot spot to vacation so that is why it costs more. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay, and hope to revisit again in the near future.
Quiet Stay
Just returned from a 2 night stay. Checked in at 2 and the front desk girls found a room that was ready for us and gave us a ground floor room (105).
Room was cleanish. There was sand from previous guests at the front entrance, there were pavers there when we got i and had to walk on the grass. No big deal they were nice and out of the way within an hour.
Kitchen was well equipped and in working order. Bed sheets were clean. Dead bugs around the screen doors.
The lodging was a bit of a walk for our 3 year old and elder parents so we opted to drive daily to the village.
Pricing was a lot…. I don’t think I would stay here again…. unless I am sharing with another family to split. However we did have nice views of the golf course and it was quiet!
Pool was a little mirky but it wasn’t busy and enjoyed our quiet time in there.
Perfect Vacation in the Village
This was our second Short Vacation nat BMR and chose Rivergrass over Slopeside as they looked a little closer and certainly newer.
We were not disappointed with unit 127 that had high end furniture and fixtures. Entrance leaves a little to be desired with the upper levels getting nice stone steps and lowers a grave of l walkway somewhat hidden but not a big issue but worthy management consideration. At just shy of 1100 Sq Ft a good size for a 4 A 2 C family combination.
Poll is the complex and one unit away from 127 so very convenient.
Walk to the Village is no more than 10 minutes and the only issue we had was the 35 C weather!
Do not count on the Shuttle as it only runs the route weekends during the green season but I think can be ordered over the phone.
Check in at the Inn was much friendlier this time but staff still seem to be multi tasked so waits are customary! Still not understanding 4 pm check-In but oh well?
