Very poor service with the Devere Club Golf Membership
After 2 years membership, I’ll not be renewing this. The deal is £295 for 100 points which is approx 10 rounds of golf. Sounds pretty good, but trying to get a reasonable tee time on this completely overplayed golf course is really difficult.
Once they do manage to squeeze you in, the quality of the course is poor. You’ll never see greens with so many pitch marks – looks like a WW1 battlefield. Added to that scarred fairways with divot marks all over them. Pity because it is a nice layout, but just SO overplayed. Real drainage issues as well. To add insult to injury, a friend and I tried to use up some of our points taking a trip down south. Couldn’t get booked in anywhere in time so pleaded with the devere guys to extend the points by ONE WEEK. The answer was just a flat no – no compromise, no customer care, no interest. Over £600 of points – down the drain. ..and this despite the fact that we would have spent more than that on accomodation/food etc on the trip anyway. Poor value, increasingly poor course and TERRIBLE customer service. Beware!!!
Disgusted Never Again!
Myself & hubby booked into this so called 5 star hotel…..frosty receptionist, got a room and booked in for dinner , the first room had blood on the bed sheets , I complained and we were allocated the room next door , this room had make up on the pillow , we then paid over £100 for 2 steaks which were butterflied ( which we didn’t request ) so it cooked quicker !!
Next morning speaking to someone about our visit, which cost a lot of money for what we actually got , we were offered 20% off a lunch ….what an absolute joke of a hotel hung our breakfast order on our door & it was still there next morning outside …NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
Very disappointed with the customer service we received
When we arrived at the hotel had to wait at least half an hour to check in, when we went to our room we could not use the toilet as the lid was covered in feces, called reception said they would send someone up took them around an hour, the cleaner commented he did not see what the problem was.
The manager told him to clean it.
We then went for dinner at the grill another nightmare.
Ordered our starters after waiting at least half an hour the manager asked us what we had ordered, she then brought the starters we had to ask for bread.
Then when the steak came one was cold my husband had finished his meal before I was brought mine then the potatoes had gone cold.
Supposed to be a romantic night ended up stressed out speaking to managers trying to get problems resolved.
Disappointing
We booked De Vere Beaumont Estate through a Secret Escapes package and unfortunately were very disappointed.
This was not like any four star hotel we have stayed in.
Our first room had an horrendous smell so we were moved next door.
The room was basic, the shower head was broken, there was mould in the bathroom and the bed dipped in the middle!
At breakfast there was a shortage in staff and there was a two slice toaster to cater for the restaurant (lots of disgruntlement amongst the guests!).
On the positive bar staff were friendly and the evening meal was nice, however it was not at all what we were expecting. Won’t be staying at a De Vere hotel again!
One to Miss
It’s with dismay that l write this email. I was part of a golf society that stayed for three nights 11/14th may at Belton wood golf resort.
I looked forward to the stay, to meet up with friends and play three rounds of golf. that’s where it all went bad! The first round of golf took over six hours to complete same on day two, five and a half hours on day three, golf carts were booked for the three games for all carts to break down at some point, no offer to compensate.
Food” on the first two nights we had the carvery room overcrowded wait for food 40 min for overcooked tasteless food. On the final day, we had food in the golf bar, l choose the Thai vegetable curry and rice, tasteless insipid mess.
I have stayed at Q hotels on many occasions all good until now, I will not be recommending this hotel golf complex to any of my fellow golfers l feel totally let down.
Quagmires, Ruined Clothes and understocked bars !!!
Golf Outing for 12 – Masters weekend in April.
Both courses were in appalling condition and well beyond unplayable.
The courses were waterlogged and extremely muddy throughout necessitating lift, clean and place on every shot – farcical conditions which rendered competition play impossible.
Worse still the second course had diseased greens throughout the course.
All of the above being indisputable facts that despite being obvious to knowledgeable staff yet not imparted to us in advance. “A little wet” was a disingenuous statement.
On the evening no less than 3 draft beet taps were out of commission forcing us to buy bottled beers by necessity. Not good enough!
Our money was clearly more important than integrity
Very poor response when challenged
