In over 90 holidays Muthu Clube Praia da Oura is the worst place ever
The location is brilliant, beaches, Albufeira and area is great.
When we arrived and were booked in and had our All Inclusive bracelets put on.
It was around midnight when we finally found our rooms, that’s when we realized that we had made a great mistake, tired would be a kind way to describe it, the bathroom door handle kept falling off and the water in the basin took ages to drain away, actually it did not look as if anything had been cleaned in a long while.
We decided to make the most of it and next morning went down for breakfast and the when things seemed to get worse, plastic cups for coffee, warm food only to be told that if we wanted we could heat it up in the microwave that they had provided.
We soon realized that if you had a A.I. wrist band on you were ignored.
The evening meal was just as bad so although we had paid for A.I. we decide to have our meals up in the town
We were also told that A.I. members were only allowed to drink down at the Ocean bar and that should we use the other bars we had to pay for our drinks (?????)
They also state that no Hen and Stag parties are not allowed, what a joke?. Although not bothered by them they arrive in large numbers between Thursday and Friday in there nappies and other fancy attire!!!!.
The terrace and pool sun beds were filthy dirty and when my brother complained they cleaned two and changed them.
In over 90 holidays this is the first time we ever complained but should it save someone else from wasting around £1500.00 it will be worth it.
Terrible resort
I had written a review in February and it had never gotten posted.
My girlfriend and I had decided to take a 5 day trip to Cuba to escape the cold weather. We came across the grand muthu; it looked clean and modern for a Cuban resort.
We checked the reviews and saw a mix of good and bad reviews… we decided to ignore the bad reviews and go ahead and book it.. BIG MISTAKE
The resort at first looked exactly like the photos: clean & modern but as we continued visiting different parts of the resort, we realized the resort was DIRTY. All the chairs at the buffet were stained and dirty, the room had dirty duvets and everything looked dirty.
we arrived to the buffet the first night and waited over 1 hour to get a meal and had the chefs rolling their eyes as we asked for food, the staff was rude and uninterested and clearly looked miserable.
The pool was freezing cold and had no umbrellas or pillows for the chairs, the beach is out of the way from the resort and barely had space and full of sea weed
The food was HORRIBLE.
To top it all off, they gave us 2 water bottles per day and we left notes and money in the mini fridge asking for more money and they took the money and never added more water; the last 2 days they didn’t give any at all!!
My last night, I left the towels on the balcony to dry so I can check them back in at the reception when I leave, when I woke up they had fallen off with the wind… when I checked out I informed the front desk that they had fallen and asked if there was any way I could find them.. they had said no and told me I had to pay for the lost towels!!!! I was in shock and never heard such a policy at an all inclusive..
We did not have high expectations for Cuba as it wasn’t ur first time going but this has to be one of the worst resorts I ever visited. Please don’t ignore the reviews on this hotel.
Muthu Raga Madeira
What a pitiful place
I am currently staying at Muthu Raga Madeira.
I arrived last Monday evening and I had to ascend 32steps to get to reception.
As it turned out my transport was too lazy to drive me to the reception. Not a good start. I am. 74 and hotel saw fit to cage me in on 11th floor which WaS top of the house as I have blood pressure it worried me.
I asked to be moved and was offered a room on 2nd floor but there was a lovely (SIC) yellow wall about 6feet away and terrace never sees the sun. Eventually next day I was moved.
However I went for evening dinner and Wow what a surprise.
There to feast on was pork loin (no other choice) frozen chips. Frozen sprouts. No choices. Take it or leave it. Breakfast was powdered scrambled egg. Boiled egg most of which were cracked. Bacon which was that greasy you could have fried chips with the excess oil. Beans. Mushrooms.
Oh I forgot to mention all were stone cold. Yes Stone cold.
We had same menu every morning no variation or choices and always stone cold. Tuesday dinner was steak. (NOT COOKED THROUGH) DANGEROUS TO EAT. potato wedges peas carrots all frozen. All stone cold. We’d we had pork of some description chips broccoli all frozen all stone cold Thursday we had pork loin again we had chipolatas (diced potatoes) ome sort of green beans again all cold.
Friday we had cod (lukewarm) chips broccoli again all frozen.
Sat we had turkey pieces some sort vegetable chipolatas. Again all cold. And tonight Sunday I cracked. We had chicken wings broccoli and Wow we had croquettes yes folks croquettes. How exciting. Again all frozen.
I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT ANYTHING THE WHOLE WEEK HAS BEEN COOKED FRESH.. ALL THE FOOD WAS SOGGY AS BEING OVERCOOKED. THE DESERT WAS NO BETTER WRE HAD SAME CAKE DAY AFTER DAY AND INDEED TONIGHT THEY APPEARED TO PUT OUT WHAT SEEMED LIKE WHAT Was leftovers from previous days.
You could but exactly same cakes in Iceland. Shops.
I would seriously advise anyone who has booked or is thinking of booking here to please do not come.
I have just had a completely ruined week. This is my first time on Maderia and sadly it will be my last.
Avoid HOTEL RAGA. like a plague.
Gran Muthu Imperia

The food was terrible.
They didn’t have half of what they are supposed to serve you. (no beef, no hot dog, no tomatoes…) They say they have 4 restaurants but in reality it’s 3 restaurants in the same room and 1 restaurant in the other resort which we were not allowed to reserve.
The beach is really not done yet. I chose this hotel because it was adult only but I ended up going to the other hotel beach because the gran muthu imperial beach is full of rock and garbage.
The employees are pretty lost they have no coordination between them so you never get the same answer. 1/3 of them were really nice, 1/3 were doing the minimum and 1/3 really didn’t want to be there.
I will never go back to this hotel
