Owners of Oura View Beach Club timeshares often find themselves confined in endless contracts with rapidly increasing maintenance fees which ultimately stems from a mis-sold timeshare contract. Over recent years there have been a number of ground-breaking rulings regarding mis-sold timeshares by many timeshare groups and resorts which have resulted in refunds and compensation. Many owners of MGM / Muthu timeshare contracts are entitled to, or have already made claims citing the following as genuine reasons for wanting rid of their timeshare burden
Definitely not a relaxing hotel!
If you’re planning on a relaxing, 5 star stay in the sun by the sea avoid this hotel at all costs.
My friend and I have just spent 4 sleepless nights at this allegedly 5* hotel in a one bedroom apartment. In my opinion the hotel is no more than 3 star, at best, and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels all over the world. From our initial checking-in the lack lustre service left an immediate impact on us. The 2 men at reception didn’t even bother to tell us anything about the hotel let alone any nearby attractions, we had to ask about everything.
The room was clean, but very dated, circa 80’s, and basic. No shampoo or body lotions in the bathroom, just an all purpose liquid in the bathtub. The welcome pack left in the room consisted of a list of the tv channels and a letter from the management wishing us a wonderful relaxing stay, nothing regarding the hotel facilities. We had booked direct through the hotel as we wanted to ensure twin beds and had been promised a balcony that we could sunbathe on, as my friend has mobility issues. The balcony was extremely narrow, only wide enough for a chair, with no sun loungers just a couple of plastic chairs and a table. When we queried this we were told that loungers are removed during the summer months. Also, If you wanted beach towels you had to pay for them. Most people bought a towel for €10 at the shop and left it there when they went home.
Admittedly we had a lovely sea view, however that was spoilt by the hotel bar being directly underneath our apartment. Even though that closed at 11pm each night, people sat there chatting loudly until very late.
The beds and pillows were so hard and uncomfortable, it was like sleeping on concrete. Sleep was made further impossible due to our close proximity to the Albufeira strip.
All night long we were subjected to the incessant wailing and chanting of pissed up 18-30 year olds. I have no objection to people having fun, but there was no mention in the hotel description of this being a hotel predominently for hen/stag parties and timeshare. It was a far cry from the relaxing holiday that we had been sold.
There was nowhere in the hotel to get a coffee or tea when the bar was closed and definitely no room service.
On the second day we requested mattress toppers on our beds, as both of our backs were uncomfortable. The receptionist seemed quite accommodating and agreed.
However, our delight was short lived as when we checked later blankets had been placed under our bottom sheets making no difference to the level of comfort whatsoever.
There were notices everywhere advising how much we would be fined if we didn’t leave the kitchen area as it was found, if anyone smoked inside the apartment and so on.
We felt like we were being treated like children.
I could go on and on, but I don’t want to bore you.
The final insult was when we checked out. We handed over the door cards and not as much as a ‘Hope you enjoyed your stay’ or ‘Hope to see you again’ was uttered, only ‘that’s it your all done’.
There are a few saving graces, the lady in the shop was lovely and really helpful and the restaurant ‘Vivaldo’, on the sea front, was wonderful.
Rest assured, we won’t be returning ‘ever’!

What happened to Club Infiniti
This resort is timeshare, we’ve been members for 20 years and have always enjoyed our stays – not anymore.
We are now treated as second class to the people who travel cheaply to this resort.
I requested a high floor and got a trashed room on 5th floor – no telephone, WiFi etc and then offered 3rd floor overlooking car park and builders rubbish. Eventually went to a lower floor refurb room.
Pool area grubby, no security, groups of men and women, shouting, taking over pool, drinking and fighting amongst themselves. Men using ladies toilets. Some reception staff helpful, most don’t care who you are or where you stay.
Even given out an incorrect invitation to an owners reception. Did not find or hear from a manager in 8 days. We were promised that no groups will be allowed into this resort. Check in time is 5pm and yet on 8th June at 10am – reception staff were checking in tour operator guests.
If Grand Muthu don’t want Infiniti members then I suggest that you pay us out and then you can do whatever you want with this once amazing resort. We are very upset and disappointed especially as this time we came to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.
Where is our annual maintenance bring spent? I will be writing to senior management this week and if necessary the newspapers – MGM cannot continue to treat members like this. This is a family resort, I’m just glad that we didn’t have grandchildren with us being subjected to the language etc, please get it sorted.
5* STAR ?
We have stayed in better 3″ Star hotels than this. The whole place is reminiscent of a tired decaying timeshare property in need of renovation.
The sunbeds are threadbare, the curtains have holes, the beds are awful, and do not dare to leave your unread newspaper in your room otherwise it will be disposed of by the cleaners! Unbelievable.
Furthermore you will be charged for beach towel rental in addition to the mandatory deposit.
Apartment was dated
Maintenance fees are over £440. Along with the flights of say £250 this is not a cheap room only option for 2 people in November.
The reception has had a lot of money spent on it. The gardens have had a lot of furniture put in and statues spouting water are sited outside the reception area.
The room we were allocated – 507 – in poor state. My maintenance fees should be prioritised to maintain and update the apartment; Infiniti customers have a certain expectation of what they are going to. This was met last year with the allocated room being 604. Apparently this was one of 3 rooms that had been updated. even so we had trouble with the plumbing whilst there.
It appears that any schedule of maintenance has not included updating any further apartments/rooms at the hotel but the focus being on the receptions (sister hotel Club Praia de Oura has the same thing going on) and gardens.
As a timeshare/points owner at this resort for over 13 years I know that the room I stopped in this year cannot have had any work done on it for nearly 10 years.
The best thing about the rooms are the views and big balconies so can take advantage of the sun all day. But when it rains be careful it does not drain very well and is slippy.
Dated and in need of refurbishment including staff
We have been to this apartment complex a few times over the years and have to say that it is really in need of an overhaul. While the views and position near the beach are great, the accommodation is poor at best.
The kitchen area, bathroom and pretty much the entire place needs to be replaced. I would think that nothing has been done for at least 10 years, so tired would be a generous description. We realise that there are new owners and it seems that they are focusing on their other properties in the area, but that doesn’t help if you are in OVBC. We asked for a few things to be fixed but were pretty much ignored.
The staff are very variable in their approach. Some really are poor and clearly don’t understand the concept of customers, but others are really helpful, so this suggests a failure of management, and there is a sort of don’t care attitude.
Also, the transport claims are a joke. There is supposed to be a free bus service to Albufeira at specified times, but this is a complete joke. The buses either don’t run at all or don’t stop at the place they should so don’t waste your time thinking that this is going to work. Worse still, the staff have no idea what is going on so don’t waste further time asking them.
There is a great pool but despite signs to the contrary, loads of people just put towels on them and slope off somewhere – the resort staff do nothing about this, which is more than irritating.
If you come here as a timeshare/points guest my assumption is that they really don’t care as you are locked in. If you come here on any other basis, I don’t think they care anyway.
Shame really as the location is great but the facility is not.
bad choice
I booked this resort for two weeks after reading the reviews on trip advisor. What a disappointment. Firstly the resort is officially a three star resort, but never mind, reviews mean everything eh? Our room was large enough but very shabby. We had to pay eighteen euros a week for electricity and water??
I used my timeshare exchange for this holiday and also the reviews from this were excellent. This is the first exchange that did not provide pool towels for guest use. We didn’t bring any and were charged five euros for each towel rental. My husband went to use the gym and was told he could have a DISCOUNTED rate of 35 euros for three days use.
The very worst thing about it was that the resort must rent out a lot of the rooms to non timeshare young people. We hardly had any sleep. Seriously, these kids were making noise all night long and then sleeping all day.
None of the staff were friendly.
The breakfasts were quite good though.
The resort is situated right at the bottom of the “strip” in Albufeira.
Albufeira is not a suitable place for children at all, as most of the town is full of rowdy drunk young people.
We all had to agree that this was in fact our worst holiday to date. Sorry
Like Hardsell?
If you enjoy leaking roofs and hard sale timeshare this is for you, awful!!
The location cannot be faulted right on the beach but on a very steep hill so not great for people with mobility issues.
We travelled with my daughters aged 14 who the hotel chose to put in a separate block to us! Aftera uncomfortable night cramed in a small room together we were reluctantly moved by the rude hotel manageress.
We had a room on the 6th floor which was as the rest of the hotel is tired, 3star accomodation at best. This got worse as did the weather!
The roof leaked so badly when it rained we needed flippers!
The hotel staff did nothing and even when the roof collapsed next door still no action. My daughters spent the night crying as the staff did nothing.
When the lifts shorted out we had enough and left.
Petchy couldn’t care less only intrested in hard selling you holiday points which a lot of people said appeared to be a con!
All in all please avoid this place and pletchy.
