Perhaps entertainment needs to be updated
A fantastic place to go summer after summer, staff are excellent and accommodation is spotless.
Food has improved greatly in recent times.
However, I feel that there is not enough to do for children/teenagers in terms of kids club entertainment especially in the evenings. the games room is totally outdated and not fit for purpose. perhaps the snooker room should be altered to make way for teenagers entertainment.
We also felt the outdoor lifeguard was not present enough during busy times. he was unhelpful twice to us when we needed his help. this opinion was not only ours but from two families that we met this year also.
The definition of average
This is a 4-star hotel in every respect and I’m slightly bemused that it has the Four Seasons name attached to it. It’s really rather old-fashioned with lots of fusty furnishings and fuddy-duddy rules.
The food is average at best and the pool area is cramped, with sun loungers sardined around the perimeter. Forget any pool service; the fact it has won a Trip Advisor award for service is bewildering.
The waiters weren’t particularly efficient or friendly, and the staff on reception are borderline rude. The villas are very well-equipped but you feel institutionalised, like staying in a safe house.
You can order a takeaway from the restaurant but you have to collect it yourself, served in prison-style foil trays.
In short, it was a perfectly pleasant holiday but incomparable to somewhere like the Conrad Algarve.
Wonderful club
Four seasons country club is a wonderful place to holiday in Portugal First impressions are clean, friendly and efficient. The apartment was a two bed two bath and everything was included. It was definitely home from home.
The place was clean and we had a cleaner in every day to make the bed and tidy.
The Restaurant was very good and the food was first class. Wonderful pool with plenty of seats, no placing towels down so you did not need to rush to save a sunbed.
The only downfall was the bottom apartment. The noise of the people above was very annoying, every little sound can be heard. If booking try to get a top apartment. All in all a wonderful aparthotel.
Great complex
Visited Four Season last week as a surprise trip to meet my In-laws who have a villa there. Lovely complex, lots to enjoy including a great swimming pool, golf range and discount deal with the golf course next door.
Lovely grounds around the pool and the staff are very attentive and provide great service. The restaurant is good, with lovely food and good value. This is a very quiet resort and did not have many children there so good for just lazing and relaxing
Quite nice - but needs updating
stayed here 10th to 17th April, it was really very nice. The apartments were very spacious and extremely well equipped.
They do however now need a bit of updating as they are a bit old-fashioned. The staff overall were okay but not very friendly in the restaurant and reception.
We had a great time here but the second week we booked into the Dunas dorados beach club for £200 less and it puts the four seasons into the shade. There is nowhere to walk to nearby so if you want to go anywhere else for a drink you need to drive so a car is essential.
