Abhorrent Torrent
I’ll start with the positives….erm….close to the airport, the Bay is only a few minutes walk from the ‘hotel’ and the staff are polite in the face of what I would assume is a fairly constant flow of complaints. I have to say I am surprised by the other reviews.
I accept we made an error in booking late and thinking it was a good deal given the reviews and photographs of the hotel.
It is, at best, a tired, dated and poorly managed ‘hotel’. I use the word ‘hotel’ carefully as the level of service is questionable. Regardless of expectation, one would hope that in a hotel you would be able to at least have the ability to get something to eat or drink on arrival regardless of the time of arrival. Nothing on offer despite our party having two young children. What also wrankled was that on arrival full payment was taken despite the 1.30am arrival time with a tired toddler and baby. No assistance in finding the room in the dark, no lifts, no refreshments, poor lighting etc.
The allocated apartment, number 113, I hope was the worst on offer. It was poorly configured, cramped, the fixtures and fittings were old and poorly maintained. Decor was basic, rooms smelt strongly of cleaning products which was almost overpowering. The cleaning materials overwhelmed the damp smell which seemed more apparent the following morning.
Communal areas were soulless, dated and poorly maintained. No service at pool area or anywhere to get a drink on the premises. Shops nearby and restaurants are reasonable but many have closed down making way for the odd more popular one on the Bay.
It was bad enough for me to ask to move immediately the following morning or we would leave of our own accord. We were transferred to the sister Intercorp hotel in the area, Marine ‘Palace’….marginally better but again awash with issues.
I would not recommend these properties at all. They are appalling and will blight your opinion of Ibiza.

QUIET PLEASE!
This hotel is in a very quiet area of San Antonio bay, there are very little shops or bars in the area most of which were shut because it was a few weeks out of season (and Easter weekend too) when we visited, (don’t go to Ibiza until well into May if you want the clubbing lifestyle) the main area of San Antonio is about an hours walk away. The quietness and lack of shops, bars and restaurants open didn’t really bother us though as we had 2 young children (older than 10yrs younger than 15yrs) with us in our party of 8 adults.
The Hotel itself was very tidy, clean freshly painted and the gardens were well kept.
The pool area was the same.
The reception is in a different block with the apartments in 2 separate blocks behind. The rooms were very spacious, again clean, tidy and well set out, we got a downstairs apt. which meant we had a small garden and patio front and back with the upstairs apts. getting a sun deck on the roof, the kitchen was fully equipped with cooker, microwave, coffee maker and all utensils etc, the living room area had a fold out bed and tv with a spare lounge chair.
The tv was digital which meant that a lot of the British and American programmes which were dubbed into Spanish could be changed back into English (on the remote press menu, sound, change to original language).
If you find the electric cuts out then the square box by the front door has a trip switch in it, just flip the switch back up. So overall a very nice place to stay albeit quiet.
Now for the bad point, we received a couple of complaints about noise levels, one at 5 o’clock and another because we wished each other a goodnight on our way to our rooms, both times we were told it was from the residents.
I can categorically say we weren’t any more noisy than the Spanish kids running through the gardens or playing by the pool so cant understand where the complaints came from, and we spent 90% of our time out of the Hotel. So to sum it up if you are a quiet couple not in a group or a retired couple this is the perfect place for you if you are in a group especially with children then look elsewhere.
One more point our flight was a late flight so we asked if we could hold onto our rooms till later (the checkout time is 10.00 am!) but we were strictly told NO! the receptionist did eventually relent but one room only, 2 adults and 2 children only, 50 euros and everyone else had to leave.
So we all just packed our things into the cars and spent the day in San Antonio and Eivissa until time to go to the airport.
Want to relax? STAY AWAY!
Recently refurbished, the small studios at Torrent bay cannot make up for the total lack of soundproofing.
We booked a studio for 7nights months ahead and asked for a quiet and possibly top floor studio. When we checked in, in the evening, the guy at the reception try to fool us by pretending the studios on the floor were much better..but truth was, they gave the top ones away and we were left with the ground floor ones.
No need to say we heard every step, every movement of the family with children that we had above. We asked several times at the reception to change our studio or to inform the people above us how much we could hear them, but nothing changed.
There were two girls working at the reception during the day and they were friendly, the guy on the other hand, just couldn’t get the job done, he would would yes to you only cause he had to and then do nothing about it.
After 5 nights the spanish family we had on top left and another family came.
We didn’t have ONE good night sleep cause we either had noise in the evening and night ( the father always came home late…sometimes singing and slamming doors ) and then early in the morning the kids would wake up and start shouting and running around the place.
You might think we were just unlucky but… NO, even if people pay attention you are still gonna hear everything, so no matter how pretty the studio looks, you are going to come home and need another holiday!
Other than that, the Hotel is in a very quiet area of the island. You will need a car to get around cause the bus drives like once an hour. There are a few restaurants around so you can go sightseeing during the day and stay near the hotel for dinner.
There is a big public parking just in front of the hotel. Never had breakfast at the hotel, I just know they charge you 10euro pp for it. If you are a family with kids and don’t mind noise, you will probably enjoy your stay here but, as a couple that want to go sightseeing and ALSO relax…better look for something else.
Nothing at resort
The accommodation is very small and there is nothing open at the resort , no restaurant or adult or children’s activities, very poor standard as it’s stated family resort
Rci resort but seems to be very empty and local businessmen in the area have all closed down so nothing to do.
Unless you have a car and travel around the island . I feel that the larger all inclusive resorts are killing off the Spanish atmosphere and local businesses
Not the greatest of hotels
Unfortunately we arrived very tired due to an early flight, finally got into our bungalow which was very out dated, damaged and dirty!
We were very upset due to the amount we had paid and that we would be here for 10 days
We expressed how unhappy we were about the room and the only thing they were willing to do was to move us to a deluxe apartment for an extra €180!!
We decided to stay in the bungalow and just make the most of it, but after five days in and all settled we had a phone call saying they were going to move us to the deluxe room after all!
Which was much better but still not what you expect when you pay a lot of money! Pictures are very deceiving. As well as that all being said if you are looking to go in to San Antonio or the bay it is about 1hour walk.
Overall the bungalows especially need some work doing to them! Apart from that the staff were lovely and the pool facilities were adequate.
Do not stay here
First of all the good…. the staff are very friendly particularly the cleaning ladies who always have a smile on their faces. The hotel is in a good location only 2 minutes to the beach, a short walk away from the strip and a water taxi or bus ride to Saint Antonio.
Now the bad…
We booked two rooms… one two bedroomed and one double. The two bedroomed room we have no problems with, it is airy and has a great view.
The double room….
* We have to sleep in two singles pushed together, they come apart and we fall down the middle. We asked for a double bed (which the resort has as they are in the two bedroom rooms) or a double mattress we have not been accommodated.
* We arrived to find broken glass on the floor
* The rooms have no air conditioning
* The walls are so thin that we can hear everything happening in the room next to us.
* The fridge had been unplugged by the cleaner and thus leaked water everywhere and our food thus went off.
* The internet connection is intermittent and very, very slow.
* There is no safe in the rooms.
* There are not nearly enough sockets in the room – we have to keep moving appliances around to do anything.
* The website listed a gym and fitness track – this has yet to be found. If it does exist then there is no signage and no information in the rooms.
* The reception is meant to be manned 24 hours and we are encouraged to leave keys at reception. We did this and then ended up waiting for over 5 minutes for someone to open the reception and get us our key.
Not impressed and my husband and I have had to resort to one of us sleeping in the bedroom and one on the sofa due to a mix air con noise and of course the bed situation!
Very disappointing
One word...basic.
My friend booked this hotel for us through a timeshare company he has points with, so when we arrived, we expected it to be of a high-ish standard. There was spraypaint on the walls outside, which immediately put us off. The main things I didn’t like about this hotel were –
1. No air con
2. No safe in the room (safes are in the reception)
3. The maids tended to the room ONCE during my week long stay
4. Very basic/old fashioned rooms.
Apart from that, the staff were nice, and the beach was very closeby.
The taxi’s into San Antonio were only 10 euros also, which saved the hour long walk! Would recommend this hotel if you just want somewhere to sleep…next time though, I’ll pay a bit more and stay somewhere closer to the West End.
The money we paid in taxis would probably pay for a hotel of the same standard closer to the bars……..
