Owners of Aparthotel Ona Aucanada timeshares often find themselves trapped in long-term contracts with rapidly increasing maintenance fees which ultimately stem from a mis-sold timeshare. Over recent years there have been a number of groundbreaking changes to timeshaw laws regarding mis-sold timeshares by many timeshare groups and resorts which have resulted in refunds and compensation. Many owners of Aucanada Club timeshare contracts are entitled to, or have already made claims for compensation or refunds.
Many timeshare owners have effected a timeshare cancellation stating that the main reasons for wanting out of their timeshare was due to high annual resort fees, misselling using hard sales techniques and of course the selling of timeshare contracts in perpetuity.
Awful
Extra costs, aircon and electric €30, wifi €20 PER DEVICE, safe €16, hairdryer €10, spa €10 per hour but BROKEN. Didn’t even use the aircon/heating.Slalem parking avoid the trees and don’t come back in the dark you may hit a low wall.
Ashtrays in supposedly non-smoking accommodation with the obvious lingering odour of previous occupants habits. Clothing all smelled of stale smoke on return home.
Dated shabby accommodation chipped furniture, green and cracked kitchen sink, rusty fridge, soiled towels, limited kitchen equipment consisting of one ladle, dirty glassware, dead rat.
Rude and filthy restaurant staff, depleted breakfast buffet, no customer service, dirty crockery/glassware.
24 hour reception, on four occasions, sign up stating back later.
Guest relations advised us that other disappointed guests within complex due to shabby accommodation and that restaurant not up to standard. Moved to ‘refurbished’ apartment on third day, very basic, no privacy in bathroom unlockable sliding door into living area, old pine bedstead hung on wall, damp stain on ceiling, cold showers in the evening, no mirrors in bedrooms, flat pack drawers, treacherous Lino in shower area, the same floor throughout the apartment, no discreet lighting, dirty pans and no soundproofing from guests staying in upstairs accommodation.
Pool freezing.
After being assaulted by another guest following a request to move his vehicle which he had parked like sardines in a tin next to ours the ‘Director’ was obviously too busy to deal with the issue and couldn’t wait to get back to ‘his’ party. He denied numerous requests to call the Guardia until being told enough was enough and that he did not accept any type of responsibility. The Guardia came and dealt with the issue. No apology received from the resort. No feedback forms available advised on check out and no further conversation entered into.
Accommodation is not good quality, the minor refurbishments between Nov and March 2015 obviously were incomplete or had been done on the cheap. Complaints and assault not taken seriously by the Director who had no respect for his ‘English’ guests as he called us and who heard his comments about us to his staff and Guardia in Spanish.
Not as advertised. Ruined

Needs a serious update
Unfriendly
Apartments are very nicely refurbished and reasonably equipped.
Location of the resort near to the port with plenty of places to eat because eating on the resort is expensive.
Breakfast was ok but cost a lot for what you got, and don’t ask for a clean glass if yours I’d dirty because you will get abuse.
Meals a la carte(fancy slate plates with a little food on). Not welcoming at all. Won’t rush back
Very poor
Stayed here in Feb 2015, we had two “houses” as there were 6 of us.
The photos on the website show only the main pool area, don’t be deceived – the rest is rather shabby.
Our house had a smell of sewerage all week, worse in the evening for some reason.
Beds were ever so uncomfy and hard. If you’re not good at hills or steps this isn’t the place for you, as to get anywhere there are hills and steps.
Be aware that you cant cook much, even though its described as self-catering – no hob, no oven!
It was nice to have a tv that actually showed programmes in English, a definite bonus.
Disappointed & abused
This review I have pondered on for some time, we visited Aucanada in September this year,2014, one of the many that are owned by the same holiday company.
Unfortunately our visit to this resort was marred by ill-mannered, arrogant staff, the main culprits being the ‘LADY’, for want of a better title, and her partner who runs the bar-restaurant, our first meal on Monday evening was slightly disappointing in choice of menu and lack of flexibility, there were only 4 people eating there, in fact, 4 all evening, but no chance of changing some items on menu.
The breakfast was cold and not much of a choice, when we sat by the pool we were told we could not have coffee, as breakfast was being served, so we offered to wait and were told, you need to move as seating was for people having breakfast, all be it the seating was a settee outside the cafeteria!
When we commented we were told to move and subsequently ignored or some form of sarcastic comment passed.
We booked for the evening meal on the Tuesday part of the menu my wife could not eat, nothing else was offered, main course was raw meat which was meant to be cooked at the table on hot plates, one plate, oblong 6×12 inch between 6, meat could not cook, therefore no one had a main course, this, again was met with derision from the cafeteria managers.
We have used a number of the Eurotel resorts and am totally disappointed with this one, I can say we shall not return here
Disappointed
Walked in and wanted to leave.
The place grew on me The balcony had part sea view and was quiet.
Room and kitchen had enough for holiday Bedroom!!!
So small that you had to climb up the bed to get in.
Was very hot at the time we stayed and no air con. Pool across road
Does not like Americans
My fiance and I stayed here for a week.
They gave us the worst apartment. It was Old, it smelled, the pipes made noises every 20seconds, the hotel down the hill blast music till 11:30-12 at night then you can hear in the apartment like your in the club.
The place is a great location but, unless your rich or from anywhere else besides the US they treat you like crap. The two girls that work the front desk are annoyed with everything you ask or request.
They have an attitude before you even open your mouth. One doesn’t know anything and always says come back later when someone else is there and the other just hates her job and gives you short answers and brushes you off.
The one younger guy that works the front desk is great and treats you with respect and as an equal to everyone else. Very helpful.
One of the friendliest guys we met in Spain. When we changed apartments we thought they would give us a better or newly remodelled one. NOPE, one that was just as old and smelly but, quieter.
The restaurant at the resort never wanted to serve us. We were ignored and looked over every time we tried to get a drink or eat.
The place needs to have better customer service and treat younger Americans better. Mallorca was a beautiful place that I would have enjoyed a lot more if people were just a little friendlier and not so rude to Americans.
Do Not Stay Here!! Much better places to stay on the island than this place.
Americans Beware!!!
Horrible bad experience
This place was horrible. We stayed one week during April.
I and my friends arrived at this place at 12pm, the room were outdated and the bedding in the small room was disgusting, there were stains on the sheets. We had to walk up a steep hill with our suitcases and when complaining at reception only the security guard was working and offered to get new sheets from a different room. These sheets were also disgusting .
We were told this place would sleep 7 people yet we were placed in an unfurnished room for 5 people. Totally not happy, we phoned down to reception again who told us there were no rooms available.
The hotel rep called us inviting us to have a sit down bbq in the restaurant. The bbq turned out to be all Spanish food which only included different fish and seafood dishes and no bbq unless you count chips and salad as a bbq.
My friends and I ended up having to pay a load of money for something we did not eat as some of us were allergic to fish and seafood.
The rep was very friendly and invited us to breakfast on Thursday but the day before Thursday phone to say she overbooked so we had to change our plans and have breakfast on Friday. During the whole of breakfast and 90mins after she tried to get us to trade our week at Westgate for this place and ended up showing one of the new rooms which she said had been free all week and did not know we complained about it.
The internet connection which i paid 15 Euros for only worked at 4 in the morning which was a waste of money and time. The supermarket was closed for refurbishments’ and the drinks were overpriced. Some of my friends asked if there was a football pitch on site to play on.
The reception told them it was just down some steps but still on the resort.
The football pitch turned out to be 246 steps and then a 15 mins walk. The football pitch was also not owned by the resort but another resort which was closed for the winter.
The football pitch ended up being closed, locked with uncut grass.
There was a lot of building work going on at this resort which did affect our stay as there was too much notice and material left around the resort. Also the washing machine, tv and cooker did not work correctly.
The washing machine took about 3 hours for one load of washing, the tv only showed on English channel which was sky new and the cooker burned half of the food and left the other half not even cooked.
The bathroom was unclean when we arrive and only the day after it was cleaned one of their cleaners.
The gym also was not very good as all the equipment was either broken or did not work. Looking at the website for this resort, it is nothing like it looks also my friends and I felt pressured by the rep, her husband and their 13 year old daughter.
Looking back at this resort now, my friends and i would never stay in this place again and we were very disappointed by it.
