We have been to Alanda previously & only returned this year because we wanted to be near our friends who were in Alanda timeshare sited much nearer the beach.
Our first apartment was in the San Sebastian Block & we didn’t even unpack because of the intolerable noise level from screaming kids through the adjoining double doors separating the apartments.
We were moved to next block (Santander) which also had the connecting doors but thankfully a much quieter family.
This apartment had a small balcony with side views of car park exit & road but a bigger problem was a sewage type smell (mentioned in the previous review) which came & went from what seemed to be the bathroom.
Another annoyance was that the air conditioning unit on our small balcony was very hot & noisy so we could not use it whilst the balcony was occupied.
We again asked for a move but were told that the only available was that which was our original one. W
e booked directly with Alanda & thought it overpriced especially as we could have had 2 weeks B & B at the nearby 5 star Don Carlos Hotel for slightly less.
Another annoyance was the insistence on a bond taken on our credit card against possible breakages or damage to the apartment even though we had already paid “up front” & in full. TV sets were old, small screen & box type & the lounge suite was discoloured, tired & needed replacement.
On the plus side, the club style apartment was very clean & spacious & staff friendly. Pools & clubhouse were nice & well maintained at all times.
Our previous stays in Alanda were in better apartments (Malaga Block) so maybe we were unlucky this time.
The complex has several supermarkets, newsagents & restaurants nearby & there was some live entertainment in the clubhouse bar every night.
