Sadly my family and I did not get the opportunity to stay at this resort.
We chose this site due to its proximity to San Blas commercial centre which is just across the road.
We had booked 4 x one bedroom apartments for a weeks stay for my family to have a winter sun get together.
My brother and his wife arrived the day before us and were told that there was an electrical problem so they would be transferred to their other property further up the hill.
My husband and I were given the same explanation the following day when we arrived.
The day after this my sister, her husband and my single sister arrived and Sunset View was going to accommodate them, this was far from ideal. It was supposed to be a family holiday where we could spend time with one another. Instead, it was going to be disjointed.
We expressed our disappointment and for the first night, my sister who was with her husband had to stay at Sunset View. My single sister was allocated her apartment on the other side of the complex which was not at all acceptable. So my husband and I had her stay in our apartment with us for the week.
Sunset View Diamond resorts have made no attempt to reimburse us for the apartment that was paid for my sister and not used.
We stay in Golf de Sur every year and had wanted to stay at Sunset View for such a long time.
Great Apartment but noisy
I have just come back from staying 4 nights in these apartments. On first impression, the apartment was lovely and cosy and looked like something I would love to own if I ever lived abroad.
Alexis, I think his name was on reception was very pleasant on arrival and made us feel very welcome.
I thought by having these apartments next to the San blas was a good idea but if you want an early nite then forget it as the noise from the bars from the awful karaoke was deafening.
Myself and my wife had to wear earplugs every night.
Also why these bars stay open so late is beyond me as it must cost more to keep open than they actually make as I have seen more life at a funeral.
The apartments are miles from nowhere and the local buses are every hour and go on there own time so I would not even bother asking for a time table.
The centre does appear that is was built as the next big thing but something happened and it never took off and the bar areas where all the entertainment happens are stuck in the 80s. Also the food from the bars at San blass was terrible and overpriced.
The best restaurant was the tapas oro and I would highly recommend.
Another problem with the apartment was the lack of maid service or should I say no maid service.
I have never stopped anywhere and not had fresh towls or the bed maid or the floor mopped and the bin changed. 18-30s hotels get better maid service.
All in all the rooms were lovely but noisy and not just from the San blass but from other apartments as the walls were paper thin and you could hear every word next door could say.
I wouldn’t come back here not because of the rooms but because of where the apartments are and because of the noise.
Oh and watch out for the diamond timeshare sales pitch. We were there 1 night and was rudely called up at 8.30 which in the ended up being Diamond’s own timeshare rip off so please avoid.
IF YOU WANT A POOL AND DONT LIKE DUST---DONT BOOK THIS!!!
I booked our holiday through Travel Republic, there were absolutely NO WARNINGS about the extensive renovation project that is underway.
We found out that there was NO POOL on site when we got to check in desk. It was clear that the guy checking us in was well versed in, explaining that it is written in the confirmation. When I had a good look at the confirmation, there is something written there, at the very end.
However, there was no warning prior to pressing the button to book the Hotel of any work going on whatsoever and there are extensive photos of the lovely pool area!!!!
Also when you book this Hotel it is on a CANNOT CANCEL and NO REFUND basis and if like me you just check the times of flights, that the names are correct and the hotel name etc and don’t read the very end of a confirmation, BE WARNED.
We asked if they would move us to the Hotel where you can use the pool (which is a hefty walk) they claimed that there was no availability there and couldn’t move us.
However, when I checked on the internet there was availability.
In the end, we moved and paid to move to another Hotel at our own expense.
We feel very strongly and hope this prevents others from getting a raw deal.
The dust on the balcony was dreadful, could not really sun bathe out there either. Also, dumper truck noise drove us mad.
Nice Place, Shame About The Ants
This resort was in a good spot on the Golf del Sur area of Tenerife.
Near to shops and restaurants which are offering really cheap deals on breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The apartment was invaded by ants but otherwise was comfortable, if basic.
The pool bar/ restaurant was nothing special, offering the sort of food we all cook at home every day of the week.
The garden was brilliant offering privacy for sunbathing.
All in all a nice place to stay for a week.
